He hammered our bowling in the T20 QF at the Riverside last season as well.

We need Close, no threat of taking the 8th wicket at all.

Wiese 50.

Rawlins 50 and 100 partnership for the 8th wicket.

Hopefully we can wrap up their innings (for once).

Wiese lbw b Trevaskis 56. 219-8.

Thank fuck for that.

Thomason c Lees b Carse 3 - 223-9.

Close: 231-9. Durham lead by 153.

The lads have got themselves into a really strong position here, assuming that last wicket goes down early tomorrow morning. There's two days of decent weather forecast, so hopefully they can build a big lead tomorrow then put them under pressure. This has been far better from Durham

Absolutely. It’s frustrating that we let them get to where they are from 110-7 but it’s been a brilliant performance in the bigger picture. Had we rolled them for 150 we might have been well into them in their second innings too and been in a really strong position to finish it off in the morning. Still a fantastic performance though, to hold the advantage we do.

It’s a strange one in terms of assessing what we’ve seen because to me the pitch seems pretty true, yet the scores would suggest it is doing a bit, definitely difficult to get a start going off the clusters of wickets that have fallen - probably just a case today of the ball doing absolutely nothing once it gets to about 30 overs old.

They need 4 runs to avoid the follow-on in the morning, but I wouldn’t advise we took the option even if we do have the opportunity to. No way they bat as badly at the top of their order second time around. We need to bat positively and build a lead of approaching 400 as quickly as we can. Would like to think we can be in such a strong position tomorrow - would like best part of 4 sessions to bowl them out.

All results still on
We need to knock over last man very quickly.
My fear is that we could do that but with our batting weaknesses we could still end up losing as we did against Middlesex at the Riverside last year after having such a huge lead
Here’s hoping this does not remotely re occur

Can see both sides for follow on. Personally would have enforced it. Hopefully can score quickly and get a decent total on the board.

Just seen the score.

Well done Byron Carse. He and we have had doubt he would do this, injury-wise at least, but that's his maiden first-class 5-fer!

50 for Alex Lees.
