He is having an operation on his right elbow and this will probably finish his season.

Durham needs a north east core and Borthwick is a fighter and a good captain, and a decent batsman, maybe this will help him

Probs save for another thread but I’m uncomfortable about the possible makeup of our team next year if I’m honest.

I don’t think Potts insisted on playing, he was given the option and decided to play……..canny decision for us I would suggest.

I wonder if that elbow has contributed to his poor batting form this season? Could well do. If it needs fixing it must have been an effect somewhere along the line.

Form and age. Would a player of SB's age be happy losing the captaincy and competing with McKinney, Rhodes and Gay for a place in the team?

He could have another 3-4 years of first team cricket at a second division club.

Confirmation from the club over Scott and that Lees will captain in his absence.

Also that Gay has now signed for the remainder of the season, as well as how everyone has got on at club cricket.

It would appear Gay will bat 3 this week. Hopefully Bedders is available, we could have a very strong batting lineup once again. The bowling will be the concern I think though.

He's not in the ODI or T20I squads for South Africa for their series against Afghanistan or Ireland. Which run from 18th-22nd and 27th to the 7th.
