CC : Somerset v Durham

Fuckin embarrassing appealing.

That appeal in the last over was a f*cking disgrace. They all KNEW he hadn’t hit it because when the finger stayed down their body language showed they knew. A team who thinks they’ve been hard done to doesn’t react like they did. They should be reprimanded, but with an ex-Somerset captain as umpire they won’t be.

Fantastic fightback from Carse and Raine though, that’s the story of the day, given us an outside chance of avoiding the follow-on but also crucially shepherding us towards some more bonus points.

There was a point where I was certain we’d be following-on tonight, so to come back tomorrow and still be batting in our first innings in the morning is a good achievement.

Long long way from safety, but it’s a start.
You dirty old man

Thought that was out, actually turned as sharply as if he'd edge it

Get your eyes checked, it was obvious on the stream he was nowhere near it.
Nicely balanced

Shame we can’t say the same about the behaviour of your lot. Shameful.

Got to give Carse4 and Raine credit there. The only ones, Raine especially, who attacked the spinners.

Umpires now wearing ball tracking cameras so will be in use soon. Not officially released yet but if your in the know you can see how bad county umpires are on platforms it is awful how bad county umpires are.

Just very inconsistent. I have no issues with the bowling however they were warning/no balling Carse yet very rarely pulling Aldridge up and later Overton. All I want to see is consistency.

What is an ex-Somerset captain doing umpiring a Somerset game? Is that normal? Sounds ridiculous.

Happens all the time, and hardly anything side.

As in the main cricket fans not as paranoid as football ones.

Pretty sure I remember (could be wrong) Michael Gough been umpire for Durham in a semi final and nothing said and rightly soo.

There is obviously varying levels in capability but I would be surprised in any give bad decisions on purpose

As VOFP says it happens all the time in fact I
wouldn't be suprised if O'Shaugnessy (ex Lancs) was to be officiating in our next home game at the Riverside so at least we'll get an early finish @GordonMuchallNo1Fan

Having said that there is one umpire on the circuit who appears to hold an almighty grudge against Durham and we all know who that is.

He was on umpiring duties at the Riverside in our One Day Cup fixture against Somerset at the end of last month.
