CC : Somerset v Durham

Happens all the time, and hardly anything side.

As in the main cricket fans not as paranoid as football ones.

Pretty sure I remember (could be wrong) Michael Gough been umpire for Durham in a semi final and nothing said and rightly soo.

There is obviously varying levels in capability but I would be surprised in any give bad decisions on purpose
Complaining about the standard of umpiring is justified and an entitlement and doesn't justify a paranoid label. Immediately raising the finger on an lbw appeal indicates a lack of thought about the decision.Such an action is giving a bad decision on purpose.
Again you're using insulting terminology about posters. What right have you to do so?
The standard of umpiring in the CC is very poor in some instances. Criticism of of umpiring is perfectly justifiable. They're professionals on a very comfortable salary (>£50k per annum). Spectators have every right to expect professional standards from them.

Think you got the wrong end of stick there mate.

I was actually criticizing some football fans who I believe are paranoid about ref decisions going against their team.

Where as cricket fans aren’t, there much more mature in general and imo complain about the standard of umpiring rightly without having that siege mentality that the whole world against them like football fans

Imagine if a ex-player reffed a football game holy hell would get loose, where as cricket accept ex-players as umpires and it happens without much fuss or suggestion of bias

That the point I was making, with respect mate if you read my post again you will see it is football fans that I think some are paranoid not cricket ones
And that’s why there is no issues ex-players been umpires where that would be imo in football

Just think the general view is that the standard at county level continues to get worse. A lot of the time I try not to even take notice of who the umpire is because my view is none of them stand out as being very good. Appreciate they have a difficult job at times however the inconsistencies I've mentioned on here about no ball bouncers is inexcusable from the umpires & I can't quite fathom out why they are so inconsistent with such basic decisions. A lot of the time as I've said they tend to guess with lbw decisions something I've said for years

This game is taking very similar pattern to the corresponding pattern to the one in 2004 .
hopefully with the same result 😀

+6 on the over rate and the home supporters are slowly clapping wanting us to hurry up.... Bizarre.
Floodlights on. 138-3. 42 overs to go today

I wonder if when the square leg umpire missed the obvious stumping they decided the light was dodgy as it wasn't long after that they went off. Looked to me he couldn't see the line

With these two umpires they would have still missed that if they'd been standing six inches away on a sunny day.
