This partnership is crucial. Raine can bat a bit next in, but this is really our last chance to get towards a decent 200 lead. Otherwise i can see us bowling again tonight defending 180

Was a white ball shot like. For his first class debut can give him a bit of slack, played his natural game to good effect in his innings.

Interesting marty saying new signing could be announced tomorrow, the replacement for Handscomb.

Northants well set for full batting points. Makes the draw against Leicestershire all the more annoying. Going ok in the other games, Sussex with a 29 lead with 5 wickets in hand, and worcs 129 ahead 8 wickets in hand.

Eckserley gone and not happy about it, did look high, even though we are behind the batsman on camera.

Is this Handscomb’s last game??

No reason why Bancroft couldn’t return - if he isn’t playing tomorrow. Won’t happen obviously, but if he’s not needed by the Aussies they might aswell release him.

Yes it is. Isn’t the Australian competition due to start mid September so they’ll be heading back for that

Domestic list A season starts in Australia or something. So imagine Bancroft will be in the same boat.

Fully expect us to limp to a lead of 180 and then watch them to knock them off for no more than 4 wickets down as the pitch appears to completely flatten out :rolleyes:

Is he only on a trial at present? If so, you could be right.

Edit - Just looking at his stats there, averages 30 which doesn't set the world alight and he's only got 2 hundreds in FC cricket, HOWEVER, he's scored 28 50's, in 58 matches. So he pretty much scores a 50 every other game. If he can start to convert at a better rate he could turn into an absolute diamond.

Mind I think we are his 4th county he has had a try with.

Didn't he also imply he hadn't played County Cricket before ..... also that the better Australians will be off playing Big Bash soon. So who that leaves I've no idea.
