CC: Middlesex vs Durham

Well Durham have their first Championship away fixture for a mere two months on Tuesday in the shape of a vital game at Lords.

After Fatty Cosgrove thwarted us in the last game we go into the game in 5th place on 128 pts which is 10 pts behind third placed Northants and 11 points ahead of 7th placed Middlesex who have won three and lost three of their eleven games and incredibly only have the same amount of batting points as us (19).

No team news as yet although Franklin is doing the GNR today if that helps:D. I felt we missed Harte's uncanny knack of breaking partnerships (a bit like Doug Walters for us oldies!) in the last game but I wouldn't imagine Robson losing his place after one game and of course he'll be up against brother Sam (whatever happened to him?).

Its vital we win at least two of our remaining three fixtures especially as Lancs are virtually there and second placed Gloucs are on three wins in a row.

Other games are
Gloucs (152)v Sussex (122)
Lancs (181) v Derbys (112)
Leics (89)v Northants(138)
Worcs (94)v Glamorgan(133)

As ever Haway Durham You Can Do It!!

Long range forecast for Lords is good, every chance of a result. Tall order for us mind, Lords isn’t a happy hunting ground for us unfortunately (Cup Finals aside ). Hopefully the Franklin factor will steer us well in this one though, he should be able to help us with some ‘local expertise’!

10:30 start in the morning, I’m predicting no toss

Middlesex have signed West Indian Test bowler Miguel Cummins for the last three matches of the season and he's set to play tomorrow. He made a 95 minute duck against India recently!

Interesting to read that this is Handscomb's last appearance for Durham before heading back to Oz as the club stated that when he replaced Bancroft he was here until the end of the season- does this mean Bancroft is returning for the Northants and Glamorgan games??

Doubt it; Aussie domestic cup starts 21st September.

Think this is where the stream for the game will be.

Pretty formidable side they’ve got - would expect that side to compete in Division One. Real test of our credentials coming up. Slightly unnerving that we opted for a toss and they’ve won it and inserted us.
Atleast we didn’t lose the first wicket of the day in the country...... that honour befell Leicestershire.

Well as we were behind the batsman on that, no idea what happened in front of the stumps.

But looked like it was going to hit the stumps.

Watching on the stream, replayed it and slowed it down. His front foot looks like its outside leg maybe just on leg stump, so must have been very close

Finn has got it jagging quite big. Odd for him

Ditto I thought it looked out. No real complaints from either batsman.
