Yes the weather won't help, but its still poor. Poor shots and lack of footwork, not only this game but throughout the season. We've been well below par in many of the games, think this is the 10th time in 13 games we've been behind after the 1st innings. Simply not good enough with the bat. Needs a lot of work doing, hopefully with the singing we've made it'll make us a bit stronger, but a few players should be feeling pressure for their places. I'd rather see younger players given a chance and fail then seeing the same players under perform game after game

Maybe

I just find it weird that people go on at the cricket lads as if they are Sunderland not putting a shift in in the Premier League while counting their 60k a week. Maybe they aren't good enough, but they are without doubt trying their best, and yeah they get paid ok for doing it, but very few of them are particularly set for life from a cricket contract at Durham.

They are all good lads, who will gladly sit and talk to you about the cricket and even have a pint with you after a days play. To slate them like some do on here, and even call them an embarrassment, is embarrassing in itself in my opinion. On the verge of nasty at times.

I'm not questioning the commitment, never have. I'm questioning the league table, results and performances. I've been consistent with my criticism of Lewis and nothing has convinced me to change my view. Its not good enough. Lewis needs to go.

I know I'm pulling your leg a little.

He was criticised earlier for being useless …. presumably in this format .. and I pointed out that he's the best batsman this season apart from Steel … so if he's useless what does that make the others.

It’s quite simply not cricket, by all means examine the whole season with a fine tooth comb. This game has to be erased from any examination though.



That Lancashire one included a forfeited innings so I’m not sure how reliable that list is.

Had we not been utter shite all season with the bat I may have some sympathy.

Granted not this shite, but this isn’t an isolated incident. This has been the story of our entire season
