Been down today and will be tomorrow. Asked Liam Travaskis what the wicket was like and he reckoned it was slow, some balls keeping low with seam movement being big when it occurred. Outfield was slow as well. Simply put Lancs struggled to score runs and we struggled to take wickets.

Not helped by Eckersley dropping a Dolly off Jones when he was on about 14 and seemed Lees also dropped one later on. All in all quite a dull days play just like the weather conditions. Nice scenic club style ground with some right over zealous stewarding going on. “You shouldn’t be in this area anyway” to me and others sat and standing on a grassy embankment near the pavilion. “You can only go out this gate you can’t come back in through it”. Caused a lot of arguing. Especially when the gate and attached 300 yds of fencing were about 4ft high.

Durham 37-0 in reply.

In other news, Sussex fail to avoid the follow-on for a second home game in a row - only for the opposition, bottom of the table on both occasions, not to enforce it (again).

In further, other news, Derbyshire had 2 centurions and 3 batsmen dismissed in the 90’s in their total of 557-6dec at home to Middlesex.

65-0.
