CC :: Essex v Durham

Doesn't Clark bowl a bit of dobble? And has shown form at times, Burnham hasn't ever

Leg breaks.

Theyve got near identical first class batting records but Clark has shown some quality in the Blast last season
Shame how it ended but still a decent day, hopefully get some useful lower order runs and get a lead close to 100

Next three days are going to be dry and sunny. We need to eke out another 100 for these last three wickets.

Under 100 lead will be very easy for this Essex team to overturn

I bet Essex wouldn’t have been staying out to bat there if it was the other way round.... Gutted the way it’s looking but if I was offered this at the start of the day I would have took it mind.

didn't realise it was leg break, just thought he did a bit of part time bowling.

i know he had at least one good season in one of limited over formats.

On Burnham, he’s a lucky buy to have a contract. He let the club down over and over, and he needs to perform at some point
His 42 in the first innings at Trent Bridge was considered, mature and patient, like he was a whole new player. Then Fletcher chucked the ball at him, he nicked off to a stupid shot and he was back to the same player he was before.

never seems like he gives a toss about fielding to me, like he's a star player and it's beneath him.

The way this game has gone/is going reminds me very much of this......

:(

We were in with a shot at the title on the last morning of that game.

Regarding the Burnham naysayers, I still haven’t given up hope on him and it’s clear the club haven’t either. He keeps getting picked and considering that it’s three head coaches we’ve had, who’ve all picked him and kept him involved either side of his misdemeanours, clearly he’s highly rated within the club as a cricketer.

His first innings knock against Notts showed he’s got talent, yes, he’s had two failures since, but other players with two failures from 3 this season include Lees, Borthwick and Eckersley. Nobody is calling for their head(s).

Borthwick is a poor example

they have a little more credit in the bank

i'd say there is nobody in the club who has been given as much leash to perform as poorly as burnham. and i include muchall in that. i'm sure there are examples but i can't think of one in the last 5-10 years .. which is about the limits of my memory
