CC : Durham vs Sussex

Looks like both Leics and Worcs will win.

So a massive performance for us yet again with the bat to put us in the driving seat in this game.

Gloucs leading by 98 and seven down, so Leics will have an easy chase.

Worcs setting up a big chase for Glamorgan. 229 ahead with 6 wickets in hand.

421 runs in the day.

Looks like the monthly break hasn't affected us. 3 bonus points ahead of Worcestershire in this round of matches and should make it 4.

Some excellent partnerships throughout the day. Feel sorry for Michael Jones, but he’ll get there.

As has been said, final batting point is imminent tomorrow. We then need to bat Sussex out of the game.

Well done me bonny lads 😁

I was the only one on here* that ever backed him succeeding.

*That isnt banned
Err I was saying he should be in the first XI when he was hitting regular hundreds opening for the seconds.
De Leede currently averaging 123.50 from his 5 knocks this season.

Needs another 53 runs if he gets out to maintain his 100 average
Giving Robinson a run for his money as signing of the season imo. He's only 23 or summat

Another great day, what a season its been. On another note aren’t memberships normally on sale by now.

CC D2 Table after Day 2
  • Durham - 181 - (Max points achievable 246)
  • Worcs - 138 - (Max points achievable 202)
  • Glamorgan - 123 - (Max points achievable 187)
  • Sussex - 115 - (Max points achievable 204)
  • Leics - 114 - (Max points achievable 202)

  • Note, if Durham win, their points total will go to 197/198 depending on the 5th batting point. Sussex’ points total will go to 115/116/117 depending on the 2nd + 3rd bowling point. Their max points available will be 187/188/189. Meaning they can not overtake Durham.
  • Note, Glamorgan can no longer overtake Durham if they lose. However, if Glamorgan win, neither Glam or Worcs can overtake us.
SUMMARY
If Durham win and Glamorgan win, Durham will be promoted

I was pleased to see our progress in the match when I arrived in sunny Scotland this afternoon. I did think the new ball might derail us a bit, but not at all. Unlike Sussex who folded to the new ball, we accelerated and the match (and the title imo) is there to be taken. Excellent partnership from two players who’ve been largely made to sit on their hands (3 with Robbo…… in Robbo we trust) for the last few weeks. I had loads of misgivings about BdL early this season, but I have none now…. in the red ball at least.

Saw the comments about Borthwick’s captaincy earlier in the thread. I’m not a big SB fan, but I thought he handled yesterday very well. His captaincy has definitely improved this year
