Double checked to make sure the spelling of Leics is correct! So we arrive at our final fixture of a red ball cricket campaign that has surpassed even our wildest dreams. We go into the game 47 points ahead of second placed Worcs and an astonishing 69 ahead of Leics in 3rd. The title is ours!
Our opponents have themselves had a great season winning the One Day Cup in dramatic style and had it not been for a narrow defeat to the Sussex Skullduggeries and the rain denying them against Yorkshire they themselves could have been joining us in the top flight next season. As it is Worcs only require a maximum 3 points (if that).
Ackermann isn't available for this match and our other Leics acquisition Callum Parkinson missed the last game. For us I imagine de Leede will have joined up with his Dutch team mates so maybe Bushnell will come in. When I was at the Second XI game on Monday the pitch looked as if it was more over to the old scoreboard side of the square.
If we are able to let's all try to get down to the ground at some time to get behind the lads and see them lift the Trophy. Once again congratulations to the players, staff and management for what they have achieved and to the supporters who have stuck by the team during some dark times.
Haway Durham !!!!
