After five weeks of T20 and the joy it brings to Durham supporters we return to the four day format with the visit of Leics on Sunday.
One things for certain, our games with them tend to be eventful with our victory here last season after following on, then being dismissed for 61 and 66 in the same day at Grace Road and last month being dismissed for 117 in the first innings but ending up winning by 119 runs thanks to an unlikely 92 from Rimmington and a classy century from Bancroft.
Ah yes Bancroft- now back in the Aussie first XI which begs the question who will be opening and who will be captaining the side? Perhaps they are drawing lots in Leeds as we speak!
After Gloucs' two victories catapulted them to 3rd we now lie in 5th place 14 points off a promotion place and paying the price of our woeful start and equally woeful lack of batting points however....only Lancs have won more games. Meanwhile Leics lie bottom with 82 pts and are probably the only side in the division out of contention.
No team news as yet but good luck to Perer Handscomb who will be making his Championship debut for us-lets hope he doesn't repeat that shot from last night!
The weather looks ok *(at time of writing) with the forecast of just an odd brief shower on Sunday afternoon.
After the miracle of the Trapdoor Stand being open for the last CC game and the assembled Barmy Army roaring them to victory expect it to be firmly closed no doubt.
Forget the T20s lads and lasses and Haway Durham. You can do it!!
