Yes, very clever of Worcs to throw the ball into our court with that declaration.
My worry is that Campbell will fall for the bait and do something reckless.

Very much agree. Campbell has made it very clear that he hates draws and Richardson & Co will be well aware of this.

Anyway it's a lovely morning down here at the Riverside. We'll see what happens.

He didn’t, but he probably thought he’d got outside the line - I’ve looked at it a few times again and I can’t really criticise* the umpire.

*Regular members will know how I normally never miss an opportunity to climb into the umpires :lol:


It’s one game, but I get the frustration, I know that for a long time Vic was down at Trent Bridge and as I understand it, he prepared a lot of pretty flat decks down there too.

Regarding the game, I can’t see anything other than a draw. I think the only way we can win is if we go berserk in the morning (or they feed us runs) and declare around lunchtime and then suddenly things begin to happen. Unfortunately this feels like another game where things looked so promising on Day 1, but where a draw is the best we can get. Hugely frustrating.

Think it was Middlesex at Uxbridge (maybe both though) and had a reputation for roads.

The fact that no time was lost (almost) and yet it was heading to a bore draw after a day and a half points to the fact that this was a poor pitch for cricket, maybe a good T20 pitch though, but for bowlers it looks like a heartbreaker.
