CC :: Durham v Warwickshire

Jennings and Stoneman both got called up on the back of their Durham form mind

stoneman had already left ( and deserved more attention for years whilst at durham) and jennings, i think was in his last year here?

rocky & badger were the most consistent batsmen in the country for years at durham and never got a sniff, jennings scored what 1700-1800 runs the year he got selected and then left shortly after
She seems canny, already at women’s Test standard.

BINGO!

One of them was on the YouTube chat at the start of play, had a brief chat with him. Suggested the new square is supposed to dry quickly and encourage alot more spin than in recent years. I wondered how much that's tied into the return of badger

If that’s true, it seems fairly poor from a planning perspective given our complete dearth of quality spin bowlers.

Badger has bowled some absolute filth since he returned. If he was being brought back as a spinner, that stratagem backfired.

I don’t think he was. Everywhere he’s been his bowling has been a ‘bonus’ more than anything else.

256-2 - Borthwick pinned lbw to a shooter. Lead is 169.

Bonus for the batsmen, seeing those two juicy full tosses every over.

Other than Chelmsford his batting hasn't impressed me tbh. Not much he could do about that rat ball just now but he didn't look all that comfortable before that

266-3 - Bedingham beaten by a ball that pitched well short of a length and didn’t get above shoelace height.

Warwickshire fielders didn’t even celebrate, with a deficit of 179 it’s not exactly encouraging for them to see the nature of the last two dismissals :lol:

269-4. Burnham now lbw, Marty making the point of how gloomy it is. Lead is 182.

Off for rain at 271-4. Tea taken.
