WTF happened there? Anyone at the ground?

Looked on the stream like Trott chipped one straight to short leg, who held the catch. Yet umpire and Trott were completely unmoved

Durham were dumbfounded and Steel distinctly shouted next ball that it looked as if they would have to clean bowl him.
Trott out now for 56 122/5 Lead 249.

all sounds a bit too comfortable for warwickshire. been away so can't comment on the game, just the scorecard

Think we have to give credit to the bowlers and the tactics in that last session though - to limit Warwickshire to little more than 3 an over means they can't declare yet. I'd guess that they'll likely have to bat for atleast the first hour tomorrow so all the while taking time out of the game.

I think our 3rd and 4th bowlers aren't good enough. Rushy and Salisbury made them work but Rimmington and Harte let the pressure slip a bit. If we had McCarthy and Weighell …. but we don't.

Yeah, I said a few weeks ago I felt Rimmington was probably no better than second change - his bowling has been a real disappointment - but in fairness to him, it probably hasn't helped his case that he's seemingly been the only bowler to remain fit throughout the season, meaning a heavier workload than is ideal.

It's easy to be over critical. Look at the bowlers who weren't available McCarthy and Weighell I mentioned but also Carse and Potts.

That's true but you have to cater for the inevitable injuries to fast bowlers especially given our track record. No reason, for example, why we couldn't have signed Salisbury for the start of the season.

Yep, if there's a criticism that would be it.
