CC : Durham v Nottinghamshire

WINNERS!!!!!!

Belated, been busy, but never had any concern this morning that we’d get the job done!!

Lovely to see Wagner enjoying himself there too, hope we see him again.

WHAT A WIN! McKinney, Turner and Hogg phenomenal. With notable performances to Lees, De Leede and Wagner in the first innings too.

A fantastic four days, a massive result in terms of the future - hope we can go and kill off Somerset’s title bid next week.

So just home and obviously delighted with our win and to see Hogg (7-66) and McKinney doing ever so well. What I want to say is how bad Nottinghamshire were. Having won the toss they put us in to bat which was a decision that favoured us. However what I saw on day 1 & 2 was a team so disinterested it was bordering on embarrassing/easy, they had basically given up, they offered absolutely nothing, it's not something I've really seen much of so soon in a game. A few made it a tad more difficult on day 3 and parts today but on the whole it looks like a very unhappy dressing room as it was mainly a team who just looked completely lost. By all accounts they were moaning yesterday about our short bowling and I saw Big Luke have a word with a Durham fan who was vocal back at the Notts players about it yesterday. I'd be concerned especially now Worcestershire have won, I'd be very concerned. As for Durham, we keep ticking along doing our thing and I'm ever so pleased so far how our first year back has gone in division 1. All roads now lead to Somerset and let's see how we go, just a case of keeping picking up points and enjoying our cricket. The team are very close and the banter is superb. Well done Durham.

Surely Moores must be on the hot seat? They probably have one of the biggest budgets in the country and when you look at their team plenty of very capable players yet they are consistently crap.

Didn’t they go about 3 years without a first class win around Covid time?

Regarding Wagner I overheard a conversation from north that he is booked in to see a specialist

I used to have a bit of a soft spot for Fletcher, not anymore after his antics on Thursday, foul mouthed language on the field, lashing out at the ball (with his foot) the big boy bullying of young McKinney, he's gone down a lot in my estimation.

I'll second that although it's not the first time he's gone on like that at the Riverside as @GordonMuchallNo1Fan will testify.

Yup we had an exchange a few year ago, he bit far too easy and I've mentioned it on here. Aye this morning a lad I know from Sunderland clearly had a bit of a ding dong with the Notts balcony yesterday about their moaning (short bowling) and I was stood near the steps this morning and Fletcher collared him trying to give it big and the lad didn't back down & reiterated his view which Fletcher didn't like and it continued at handshakes on the steps at the end of the game
