CC :: Durham v Nottinghamshire

Mate, obviously these discussions are away about your intelligence, best leave it there.

Absolutely, tbf, I was even just talking about people suggesting dropping Trev for a journeymen spinner.

4 of the top 6 is too much for me too I agree, albeit we dont have a mass of batting availability, which is why I mentioned Luke Doneathy
My intelligence you as usual have no self awareness and have resorted to abuse which you complain about when you get it

Early fog has lifted and its currently sunny and cool in CLS. I imagine it'll be chillier in places of high altitude ie Co Durham Upper.

disappointed that every other day this week was shorts weather. got offered to switch my day off this week but every day seems roughly the same so will just poodle down today. hope the ice cream man is there so i can finally get my first 99 of the season (it's a ruddy disgrace tha nazz)

Looking at the two squads and the blokes on the PA for this match are going to have their work cut out with the possibility of Petersen, Paterson,Pattinson and Patterson -White all playing.

i'm hoping for a peterson caught paterson bowled pattinson hatrick!
And that was... pat- err.. peter....sen bowled pat.. err yes peterson i mean pattinson caught, er bowled, i mean paterson.... bowled paterson caught pattinson-white

Blowers should come out of retirement especially to commentate on such a scenario in between mentions of the jolly enthusiastic vocal support coming from the Pavilion, the oystercatchers doing a lap of the ground, the jolly gentleman in the MCC tie at the far end, any pretty lady in a nice summer dress and the inevitable arrival of the ice cream man.

Not for me, back local lads with more talent
Sometimes, you have to play an up and coming (local) as part of his development. Players may have done all the learning they can in the 2nd's and to go further they need 1st team game time. I think that's where Gibson is now and that's why I'd leave him out this time around to absorb his last game.
not easy picking or predicting the XI out of that. gibson/salisbury has to play. trevaskis should play, so should jones but really only one of them can.

lees, dickson, peterson, borthwick, bedingham, eckersley, trevaskis, raine, potts, rushworth, gibson

salisbury, drissel and a very pissed off jones left out

edit: but it wouldn't surprise us in the slightest if jones is in ahead of trevaskis
I'd drop Gibson in favour of Salisbury.
Gibson did ok last game but was often inaccurate, but he'll improve over time. Salisbury, obviously more experienced and takes a few wickets, which is very much needed atm.

oh i say, i can just see a bus coming around the ground, what a majestic shade of purple, very in keeping with the land of the prince bishops. simply marvellous!

that's fair. i had really high hopes for salisbury, his first year here it seemed like we'd found a useful opening bowler to go with rushy, i'd rather use the likes of potts and coughlin as change bowlers coming on for short sharp aggressive spurts.

There is still a leg arm fast bowler out there somewhere to come in if needed. Is he still playing for Durham Uni instead.

Looks like Durham are batting so I imagine Notts won the toss.
Well they've put the team up on the scoreboard and Lees ain't in it...same as Leics game.
