CC :: Durham v Leicestershire

Does this mean we need to rebrand from the Durham international Emirates Dubai cricket ground of Durham at Chester le street cricket Riverside Durham international ground??
In February 2016 it was again renamed, this time to 'Emirates Riverside', following the extension of Emirates' contract with the county until 2022. The ground reverted back to The Riverside Cricket Ground at the end of 2021 season due to the impact of Covid 19 on the airline.

Great day's cricket. I thought at one time we would be lucky to get to three figures so more than happy with the close of play score.

Brilliant stuff from Bedingham and Dickson and let's hope the former will get his well deserved double century tomorrow.

Haway Durham!!

Pretty much this. 34-3 we looked desperate but then on was a pleasure to watch. Bedingham is just ridiculous. 400 would be nice within 110, see what tomorrow brings. So so good to be back

Leicester aren’t great like

They’re not, but losing their best bowler after just 9.2 overs didn’t help.

I thought Davis and Barnes bowled quite well given the added workload, mind I bet they aren’t impressed at all with Hendricks. Still yet to take a wicket for them across 3 innings this season :o

A great day for Durham, watched on a delay for most of it so I’m just catching up now with the crack on here but it was funny reading the bed-wetting at 34-3

We should be looking to go beyond 450 tomorrow and take total control of the game. I really like Azad for them, but apart from him their entire top 7 haven’t made any runs so far this season so we should be able to apply a fair bit of pressure. Hope Gibson has a good debut!
Day one... Scoreboard fucked.

Lasted much longer than anyone predicted in the sweep mind 🤦‍♂️

The innings so far from Bedingham is one of the best I've sat and watched at Durham in red ball cricket. Seen some very good efforts over the year but that was stunning today.

great question to ask. my memory for stuff like that is terrible, but the one that sticks in the mind is the 150something sangakarra got at hove for having it at, aswell as knocking up the gears in an attempt to get scoring quick enough to make a game of it (lots of weather that game) when you wouldn't have blamed him for just batting for himself, as he was just getting into shape for a tour of england

Carried on where he left off from last season, when he gets going it looks like he’s playing a different game on a different wicket to everyone else.

The double ton last year was better, not by much like. Hopefully tomorrow he goes beyond that.

One for the oldies but I always recall Wayne Larkins' 158 not out out of a total of 301 v Gloucs in 1994 at Gateshead Fell in freezing conditions. The next highest score was Extras with 31. Courtney Walsh was bowling at a genuinely fearsome pace against him and actually came into the Durham's dressing room at the end and shook Ned's hand and said, "Man that was some innings!".

Jennings hit a double ton not too long back in the county championship at home and I was so impressed watching that knock. That one today by Bedingham sticks out massively. His technique is effortless at times and his variation of shots is very impressive. I'd love to see him push on tomorrow but ultimately he has put us in a strong position. The likes of MDV and Benks are my all time Durham favs but this Bedingham is fastly becoming another fav of mine, he's so impressive & oozes class. It's frightening just how good he is.

good point on the bowler, not given that enough credit

Not sure about 450 mind, but I wouldnt be against an attempted hit to 400

He was far too good for that attack today, you could even tell how easy he found it, I only think he held back in the last 6,7 overs as we lost some wickets

What I mean is, we know to a level how good he is, I guess the test with him will be against better attacks, if we hopefully go up.

I said this last year, but there cnt be too many better players in the country from what we have seen, the only caveat is the league, I guess that is the issue.
