CC : Durham v Hampshire

Now the warm up games are complete our XI v Hampshire should be imo
Lees
Borthwick
Ackerman
Bedingham
Robinson
Carse
DeLeede
Raine
Parkinson
Potts
Boland
You won’t be far away with that.

I think Jones is going to miss out, but Clark batted twice in the friendly at Leeds which might suggest Campbell was giving him a chance to get more overs in the middle?
Early forecast looks poor mind. Hopefully changes
The forecasts don’t ever take account of the Riverside microclimate though 😁

I think so too, Bas will miss out.

I see Campbell has been talking up Ollie Robbo's England credentials. Got a feeling we might be about to lose him.
I think young Mustard is the only other option. It would have likely been Tom McIntosh but he decided to give up the game at the end of last year.

I quite like the look of Mustard, and he can bat a bit as well, but I don’t think he’s ready for the CC yet. Robinson would surely need to be replaced if he left?

I’m not sure that Campbell talking up his England chances means much, mind. I’ve heard him say a few times that we want to be producing players for England.

The tests are not till well into the season and Foakes is bound to start the series.
I think they have had a look at Mustard pre season and decided he is up to the job to be 2nd XI keeper and one day cup and given him a rookie contract.
They can easily use the loan system if there is an emergency its one of the reasons it was introduced.

If we're in a hole then Stuart Poynter is back at the club as a coach. Dunno if he'd be able to sign a short term deal if required, but he's given up on Ireland now so don't see why not.

Beddingham has done it before as well.

But they seem to think very highly of Mustard Jnr, so you think he'd be given a go first.

Just checked and Poytner is only 33 year old. Still keeping wicket for Tynemouth afaik. Certainly would be a capable stand in.
