CC :: Durham v Glamorgan

Well only cricket I was able to watch was the final hour on the stream but sounds like Durham had an awful last 2 sessions.
The Guardian are running a story that Potts is the front runner to be called up for England for the 1st test. It's between him and Jamie Overton at Surrey. I suppose it will be Stokes call as I doubt Mccullum will know much about him or possibly Keys.
Any of you techno boys link the article to this thread for everyone to read.

The thought of a Durham attack deprived of Potts is truly frightening.
Yeah he has been comfortably our best T20 pace bowler for the past two seasons and that's without taking into account the clearly huge improvement in his bowling at the start of this season.
Let's hope Carse can get back to his standards of last season or it could be a painful t20 as well as championship. I was getting quite hopeful for the T20 as well.

At 168-7 it had been a good day for Durham but then, not for the first time this season, the wheels came off in spectacular fashion.

Glamorgan look like a team whereas we look like a collection of individuals aboard a rudderless ship.

A season that promised so much is turning into something grim both on the pitch and off it.

Well from 2pm that was absolutely diabolical stuff from Durham

When Carlson fell first ball after lunch on 37.1 overs they were 156-6 then 163-7 off 39.4, Potts with both wickets, he was bowling top top class he had them worried. To leave Potts on for only 3 overs was absolutely shocking captaincy, just at a loss to understand the decision and it basically killed all momentum we had and at that time we were in a superb position. He clearly wasn't injured as he was then brought on from the other end about 8 overs later. The 3 over spell from Potts went for 7 runs........... They put on about 40 runs in the time he was taken off after 3 overs, and from then on it was pretty depressing stuff and they piled on the runs and pressure to which we had no answer for and at one stage I had to laugh when Petersen was waving his hands in the air asking where do they want him to field, about typified the afternoon session really.

Thought Raine and Potts bowled well and ended with identical bowling figures.

No real shock to see us not capable of digging in tonight, I was surprised it was only 2 wickets

Won't bore you with my views on the head coach and captain but those views are yet to be changed.

Piss poor

It’s incredibly worrying, we used to be the team that would fight like f*ck, that would be difficult to beat, that would pull ourselves back into games from poor positions - here, we’ve let a position of massive strength turn into staring down the barrel of a defeat.

Utter utter shit.

Questions have to be asked about the leadership of the team, I’m not just talking coach and captain, there are plenty senior pros in that side that need to be taking games by the scruff of the neck and they just aren’t.

Nothing short of 300 runs tomorrow or we’ll be losing the second home game of the season.

Thankfully for me, I’ve got tons on, so I won’t be watching it live.

You say a lot of right stuff there

but lets be honest, Stokes and Carse bowled really really poorly

I know there are reasons for it, but in the context of this game I thought tha cost us

Nice day today
Feels like a much better day today and a good batting day. Hopefully Durham can bat all day and see where they are at close of play. For me Durham have to get through the opening hour against Neser and Hogan and then Glammy look like they have got very little threat as back up with one bowler down as well.
I could have went to the final session yesterday but cried off with the weather and reading the comments on here
Hopefully the skipper can have a decent score but I think it's going to be down to Stokes and Bedingham to score runs at a decent rate to realistically declare with enough time to bowl out Glammy. Then again we could be all out for 220 if we loose a couple of early wickets. Either way I have got the factor 50 in the bag.
