So many of his cards, red or yellow are because his touch isn't good enough so he's diving into tackles to rescue the ball. Under Poyet, the passing from the back has shown him up (as demonstrated against Villa more than once). We watched him very closely at Fulham and his effort, as ever, was first class, but he was slow, ponderous and poor technically. A different referee to Mike Dean (best in the business for me) might have viewed his tackle of Parker differently or, more likely, just a split second later into the tackle and he would have been off. You can see why he might not fit in.

Would also be another high earner of the wage bill too...

I don't like this unless we have more than Bridcutt coming in to CM. maybe if it allows us to sign Ki, but I don't see that happening. surely we must be bringing someone else in as well if this goes ahead?

It would be a ridiculous decision to sell I'm not writing this guy off, I trust Poyets judgement. But we have plenty of midfielders worse than cattermole yet he is the one to go, it's a very poor decision

And the fact they are out of contract is the reason we are struggling to move them on in jan. you can't sell if nobody wants them. So we have to move on to other players like catts that can bring funds in.

The fact he's better than most of our other midfielders shows just how poor our squad is, not how excellent cattermole is

Yes maybe so but he is still better than them.

I really do like Catts however he has lost a bit of pace which means he has lost his mobility so can't play CM anymore and can only play DM which is very limiting if we want to go to 4-4-2

Well we need to play with a DM away from home, depending on the opposition at home then i'd have no problem seeing him benched if we had a more attack minded player ready to step up and step into the team. Currently we have not!

thats something Poyet has mentioned ..buying Ki if possible...maybe £5m for him..

Because you seemed to be getting quite annoyed about someones oppinion, Tartan S Mackem summed it up much more eloquently than myself, read his post.
 
Poyet said he met with Short in the last few days....since then we've got 2 players over the line....now theres this episode....things might be on the move.
Ki signed and Bridcutt in....Cattermole out.

It all comes down to selling players we are indifferent to when we can. Sell to buy puts a lot of pressure on poyet.
