It's been coming to Carlisle for a long time, during which they've had chances to manage it but haven't with poor decisions, by that I mean the MW shambles & allwing him budget to blow on what they have now. When Simmo was in post they could have allowed him what MW was backed with but they didn't. That's not to say Simmo would have done things better but they are now in the situation they are. I agree the division is poor but when you're in there the chances with the right people are there which you'll appreciate with IH. Carlisle picked a dubious managerial choice then backed him & got rid at the worst time so dumped MH into a no-win position.

For you (Swindon) it looks decent for next season if IH gets backing. Your result today proved what a good manager can achieve if the players are on his side - unlke Carlsle. Their forum is crying out for a top to bottom clearout. As you know they're gone, big decisions are due.
 
Mad management. They brought in Williamson knowing exactly how he sets his teams up to play. There’s no improvement but they bring in loads of players in the window with that style of play in mind. They have a great away win, get thrashed against in form Swindon, he’s sacked and they bring an ‘up and at em’ dinosaur without the players to play that way.
Having said all of that seeing Carlisle at Gateshead pre season it was the most obviously relegated set of players you could ever see.

It’s been levelled against Carlisle fans earlier on in the thread but it baffles me where it’s come from, there’s the same number, if not more, Sunderland followers amongst the Carlisle support. Vast majority of Carlisle fans hate Newcastle.

He’s ruined his own career mate. Blackpool couldn’t wait to get shot because he was lazy and his attitude at Carlisle has been appalling - lazy, dis-interested and generally doesn’t give a shit. Told fans to fuck off again on Saturday. Bet he couldn’t believe his luck when he was offered a 3.5 year deal in January!

The lack of playing offers pre-Carlisle tells it's own tale. His personal attitude & application have done for him.

I won't add Carlisle into that but paying out for 3.5 years looks to be some very bad business that they're stuck with at the level they're likely heading. One of those players that they hoped would have been a saviour that rapidly became a millstone.

I lived there and their was plenty more “mags” they also attacked Sunderland fans in 2006 and were happy to be with Newcastle fans that day.

Course theirs lad fans but a lot deflect to mags you should have seen the train Sunday full of mags going to watch game in Newcastle was rammed.

I lived there in the 90s and it was full of Mags. You'd even get locals singing Mag songs on a Saturday night on the piss.

Are you talking about Newcastle fans living in Carlisle in general, or Newcastle fans amongst the Carlisle support? Which is what you originally said.

Can only go from my experience in the 90s (left in 2001). Went to Newman School and there were only two other Sunderland fans in the school apart from me. The rest were Man U/Liverpool/Mags (about equal). On the piss most people also seemed to support one of the three. This was the 90s though and I've no doubt their numbers have dwindled since then.
