Carlisle United

Just glad we are out of the shit albeit this season.
Cannot praise Holloway enough for saving us. We were looking doomed and the most likely team looking at relegation. Not forgetting that we lost at home to both Carlisle and Morecambe.
Only the keeper changed. He has transformed us into a team instead of a group of individuals blaming each other for the constant errors.

Will be at Swindon next season I am hearing.
Some massive changes are underway I understand. Would love to see us under new ownership next season with Holloway at the helm and taking us up.

Good management makes a massive difference. Example demonstrated with yourselves. Your owner needs to back him - and he'd be stupid not to because what he put into the club rises or falls (mainly) based on what goes on pitchwise. As I posted months ago Swindon are a far more viable asset when showing positive signs like all football clubs. Anyone looking to invest will probably already have a business plan in their mind.
Spot on.
You can have all the ability in the world in the basement but without the application or effort you won’t look decent.
The number of "world-beaters" at a young age I saw & heard of that tumbled down the levels because they thought they were better than they were. Managers & coaches can tell in a few minutes based on behind the scenes behaviour.

When we played Carlisle in the cup at Roker/SOL the Carlisle eejits stormed The Fort. I wandered in a few mins later and I was the first through the door after the fisticuffs and the whole place turned around and half stood up ready to go again before my lot burst out laughing at me.
It was weird walking from the bridge along that run down street parallel with Roker Ave becos there wasn’t a soul around all the way to the Fort doors which was very unusual. So they can do one for that.
BUT English football has been cutting off the teams at its extremities regularly since I was a kid Barrow, Workington, Scarborough, Exeter, Hereford, Maidstone etc etc. I hope they stay up as it’s a job for NE &NW lads who don’t make it at the top levels to keep their careers going.

Get these scum bags out of our club and this club will take off and go places.
Some rumblings and could be some interesting news in days.🙏

Why is there a live in with Carlisle out of curiosity?
I've had an interest since they were top of Div1 for a week or so in the 70s & it stuck through all the pitfalls (ownership, flooding, relegations, Jimmy Glass's last minute of the season goal, etc). That and Derek Lacey [RIP]'s BBC radio commentaries patter when I was over there.
Some just have a dislike of specific clubs & history for their own reason(s).

I remember some of the "Carlisle are in town" shenanigans in the 70s. Also the Barra & Worky re-election stitch ups.

A decent away game.
Already lost my favourite Hartlepool. Would be disappointing to loose another northern outpost.

Can’t we get rid of the clubs like Crawley first.

Saw the last twenty minutes yesterday, really hope they can pull off the second miraculous escape. First goal was a cracker.

I was brought up looking out for all the north east results - I always wanted the Skunks to lose but needed to know their results - as well as Carlisle and Workington.

Workington, Hartlepool & Darlington all out of the league, Don't want Carlisle to go out too

Something about those Northern away trips.
Remember going to Feethams a few times as a very young lad by train. Felt like I was very far from home and an adventure. Had to say although remember losing, something about the place.
Never went to Workington.
Would love Hartlepool to come back.

Nor do I mate. Seems like yesterday they had the likes of Hugh Mcllmoyle up top, Stokoe had them top of the first division early days. First time I saw SKP play for us was at their ground.
