Can anyone actually see us beating Charlton?

I've been really confident for pur previous three play-off attempts and we failed. I'm less so now so hopefully it goes the other way.
We've got to forget about the league and treat it as a mini tournament that we have a good chance of winning .

No :lol::lol::lol::lol: no one genuinely will in their heart of hearts, people say yes are saying so purely through blind faith. Yes we got the better of them over 2 games but we are a lot worse now, looked fucked mentally and physically and our manager is a parody of himself.

I think we can. I'm not sure we are much worse than at any other point in the season. We just haven't taken our chances. We must have hit the woodwork 2/3 times in each of the last 6/7 games. And other teams have been taking their chances more than they were previously. Think it's 50:50.

Unlikely on current form. We're just not positive enough, the old mentality is still there.

Of course you can beat us. The problem is you are going to have to play well to do so. Providing we don't develop an injury crisis, we are significantly stronger than the two times we played you earlier in the season. But you have good players too. I favour our chances if we play at home first. I think you may be in two minds how to approach the first leg if it was at the Valley.

The games we have lost this season have been due to key players missing, but that is our major problem. Whereas, we can cover certain positions, we have two excellent strikers for this level but pub strikers beneath that. I think we have an incredibly strong midfield for this league and Aribo has gone up a level in recent months. But outside of Aribo, the midfield does rely on the strikers to get the goals so again having both fit is important. Defensively we have been excellent since the turn of the year. We seem to have cut out some of the silly mistakes that were made earlier in the season. The introduction of Sarr who is a real unit but teh best passer in the team has been a major factor.

If I was playing us, I would say to my team to be brave. Alternatively, be ultra devenisve and get every body behind the ball. I can't see you doing the latter. I am hoping you play cautiously which I think is more than possible with your manager. If you draw as many games as you have from winning positions, the manager has to take a lot of the blame.

It's possible, but highly unlikely.

If I was a Charlton fan I'd be thinking potential banana skin. My God we're a League 1 banana skin..........:(

Of course we can beat them.

We’re also due a win against Pompey and at Wembley

Fuck it, I’m going all out. This time next year we’ll be looking forward to play offs in the Championship ;) while the mags will have been relegated already

Of course we can beat them but the question is which team is more likely to win?
Last ten games and Charlton's form is eight wins out of ten and two draws. SAFC's is four wins out of ten with four draws and 2 defeats. I have excluded checkatrade final in that lot - just league games.

Last six games form is five wins and a draw for Charlton. Sunderland have won one of their last six with three draws and two defeats.

So who do I think will win the play-off over 2 legs if it is Charlton we are playing? Looks like Charlton doesn't it?

You are a banana skin. Us, Portsmouth and you have better players than the teams below us by some margin. That has to be respected. Finishing third looks the best bet. Unless Posh scrape in, as they are in great form at the moment!
