Buying players when they're bad

If you just want to quote random statistics: fewer assists than Garner at Everton, fewer goals than Schade at Brentford and Dewsbury-Hall at Everton.

Gibbs-White has scored 14 this season, so I don't know why you've chosen him in an attempt to demonstrate that Le Fee is some exceptional footballer.
Le Fees first season in PL, will keep improving imo

Gibbs white is a cracking player
That goal he scored against united yesterday was class

A good finish aye, the mark of quality.

Well that's a different argument. He should improve given he's only 26. He's not the exceptional footballer that the herd on here have agreed on however.

I reckon the people charged with bringing players in will see it like me, and believe that we need an improvement on him to move from a mid table team to looking like a team that should finish no lower than 7th or 8th.

We'll see what happens in the summer.

Unlikely now, but if Spurs went down I'd be keen on Kinsky, Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall.

That's a squad full of underperformers.

When fit Kudus is one of best RW in premier
Agree re the 2 you mention but get feeling Gray will get a top 6 move. For such a young boy he reads the game very well and plays a multitude of position

Martin Jol when we bought Brian Brobbey: “Probably the best buy of the summer. Sunderland have done well. You have to buy them when they’re bad – that’s what I’ve learned. You have to buy good players when they’re £20 million. Otherwise, he would’ve been £50 million or £60 million."

Which underperforming players could we get for £20m and flip them to a £50m player like Brobbey? Delap? Harvey Elliott?
Don’t think you can categorise Harvey Elliott in that mate
The lad hasn’t played due to a previously banished player, Buendia coming back in and doing the business big time
Emery realised they didn’t need to trigger the buying clause so he’s been left to training only

He has only played 4 league games when the clause is 10. He hasn't played much in Europe either. He's been bombed out due to being not good enough to get a game.

The problem with buying even good players who are off form from other premier league teams is often the wages they are on.

A player such as Elliot for example would be on a big slice, given he was part of the Liverpool squad and a rising English talent. If they don't quickly become a top player with their new club then it can upset others in the team.

Maybe one of the reasons we have jelled this season is there isn;t that wage jealousy. If Granit gets the biggest wedge fair enough, players can accept that given what he has done and what he does..dosent always work like that.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Yours is exceptionally poor, however.

Know his onions does Martin, to buy ability at this level, 9 times out of 10, they have had to have had a problem.

You're wasting your time on here tbh. He's in the Onien camp of being beyond criticism. There was someone on here earlier arguing that Enzo was better than Xhaka ffs - Xhaka has had a very distinguished career and is the absolute cornerstone of our side and it isn't even remotely close with any other player frankly. I agree on Enzo - he's a great player for us but he isn't going to be attracting massive bids from top 6 teams or anything and he'll be here for the long haul with us when others will be in and out (like Roefs and Sadiki who will be in massive demand)

Aye knew there was a games played clause. Didn’t realise he’d played only 4 though.
Think they won 10 out of 11 not long after playing us so no surprise he never got back in
Strong squad Villa’s
