Buying players when they're bad

Buying players that are undervalued is absolutely the right idea.

Elliott is a perfect example.

We also need to ignore the stupid “we should never sign relegated players” mantra. Fernandes of West Ham would be a great buy

Agree with that I really rate him. Swap for Diarra who looks like a dog with a balloon.

I don’t know why you think that to be honest

He’s been poor this season, he’s also been injured and not played loads.

Was very good for Ipswich last year, 1 in 3 for a crap team
Zian Fleming has a better record for Burnley given number of games and also the fact he isn't on pens. I'm not sure about Delap. He would need to be cheap. Being 23 he obviously still had time to develop.

Martin Jol when we bought Brian Brobbey: “Probably the best buy of the summer. Sunderland have done well. You have to buy them when they’re bad – that’s what I’ve learned. You have to buy good players when they’re £20 million. Otherwise, he would’ve been £50 million or £60 million."

Which underperforming players could we get for £20m and flip them to a £50m player like Brobbey? Delap? Harvey Elliott?
We just bought a team of them

Delap is awful. He looks clueless. The ball literally just bounces off his head. Missed a chance yesterday and a couple against the mags. Didn't get within 5 yards of the target.
Disagree. He was excellent for Ipswich. He'd be a good signing. It's the norm to fail at Chelsea.

I think Bakwa at Forest could be a target. We were linked last summer, he has the right agent and has struggled to break in at Forest. Have to think they'd be happy to cash in given how many wingers they have and the inevitable need to balance the books.

I've mentioned Ugochukwu before. He arrived at Chelsea with a big reputation. Hasn't really hit the heights since, but a giant midfielder who can move the ball forward well and can score the odd screamer would help us to dominate games.

You mean like Le Fee😉😀

Na. We have the foundations of a very good football team: solid, well organised and not easy to beat. We now need one or two very good creative players who have more of an influence on matches and regularly. Don't be surprised if Le Fee is sold to raise funds or he's part of a swap deal involving a player in the French league.

Elliot, Openda

Can't see us buying from English clubs when we've had so much success abroad.

I guess the likes of Harvey Elliott will go back out on loan again, as he's done nowt to warrant a fee of 35m off the back of this season, and with financial restrictions as they are, teams will be less inclined to take punts at those kinds of figures.

£3.5M would be pushing it.

11 League goals and assists is as many as Saka, it's 1 more than Palmer and Doku and 2 more than Ndiaye.49 chances created ranks 14th in the Premier League, above Gibbs-White, Rogers and

Agree with that. Terrible player and looks like a bad egg.
Hard to say he’s a bad egg
Apparently star of the u21 international tournament before NUFC bought him
Can’t imagine Germans having ‘bad eggs’ in any national squad
Dont think NUFC have a clue what to do with him tbh.
Not sure I’d want him here mind

Delap doesn't play for NUFC and he's not German. You called someone the other day for not being able to interpret basic English :D :D

Couple at Chelsea I like
Lavia, great midfielder pity about his injury record mind, but watch when he plays, he reads the game so well
Tosin, a classy commanding CB with pace to burn. Pity Chelsea have ( it seems) about a dozen CB’s on their books
Chelsea have had 6 managers since 2022 , no wonder the players look uninterested and disorganised

If you just want to quote random statistics: fewer assists than Garner at Everton, fewer goals than Schade at Brentford and Dewsbury-Hall at Everton.

Gibbs-White has scored 14 this season, so I don't know why you've chosen him in an attempt to demonstrate that Le Fee is some exceptional footballer.
