Buying a new bike.

All the main suppliers have major stock issues at the minute . Plus they’re bumping up prices of lower rated bikes. I guess they must all get shipped from abroad hence why stocks cannot keep up with demand. Local bike shop near me never sells and bikes and usually just does repairs. In the last two weeks their stock has been cleared. Some bikes I’ve seen sat there unsold for 2 years, now gone
 


If anyone is still looking for a bike to get them from A to B, Elephant bikes restore old postie bikes and sell them mega cheap at less than 300 quid. They're bombproof and with the rack can carry loads (obviously!). Best bit is that for every bike they sell, they donate one to a charity in Malawi.

You'll be lucky to get one mate, I'm still trying to locate a Specialized, Trek, Boardman or Pinnacle hybrid.

i'll say to you what i said to my mate the other day whos looking at bikes from Halfords

'I cannot in good faith recommend bikes in this price range from Halfords - simply because they are £100-£200 more expensive than an equivalent (or better) triban from decathlon'

however, having typed all that - if you're looking at Cycle2Work and Halfords are the main option than i understand why you're looking...and also, as said - good luck finding any stock anywhere
