If we go up, I'd expect news on his contract extension pretty soon - then again knowing how they went on with Keane etc...

In any case If we went up and Burnley went down, I couldn't see AN leaving but you never know.

Off topic but I think Watford are fucked, they have a lot of aging players who were decent names 5 years ago and are reported to be on good wages.
They will need a new manager in the summer who will want to build his own squad.

They have players like Danny Rose taking £60k a week and played 8 times.

their keepers are Ben Foster, their number 1 at 38, Rob Elliot at 34, Daniel Bachmann who is letting in an average of 3 goals a game.

They have a big rebuild to do and a lot of players they won’t be able to shift. I can see them suffering for a long time.

Norwich are built for this business plan and have been following it for years. 1 or 2 seasons tops and they’ll be back up.
Burnley will come down to the owners, if they’re serious and actually have money to spend. Could go either way

Everton is another concern. At least they seem to have serious owners who will not allow them to stay in the championship, so will invest to make sure it’s a fast turn around. 1 season if they do drop

everton owners are funding the stadium..and have had to pull millions out cos of sanctions..

They will not want to be outside the top division for anything longer than necessary.
They will have to invest for a fast return. We know first hand the longer you’re out of it the harder it is to return

invest what?
they are there to asset strip and take the para money...they wont be using their own cashh..they sold chris wood to make the next installment on their payment of the club.
 
In hindsight, he will have definitely been in the frame for the Burnley job.

I don't think it will have been a case of Burnley wanting Neil (that's pretty obvious), but Neil very much wanting the Burnley job.

What a twat. He thought it was beneath him dropping down to league one, based on his credentials perhaps it was. He won't manage a bigger club in England imo.

@becs suggested something was perhaps not right as far back as April. It seems we were always just a short term fix for him. It's a shame he didn't leave earlier so we could have got someone in in the close season.
