Bumble leaving Sky

Such a shame. Loved listening to him and Holding.

That said, there's still Athers and Nasser left who I enjoy equally as much. Interesting to see who comes in

I really enjoyed Bumble in the commentary box. Was always going to happen though with the recent comments, but losing Gower, Willis, Holding, Bumble and, to a lesser extent, Botham from Sky over the last 2 years is a big loss IMO. Ultimately the correct decision for him to go, whether it’s jumped or pushed.

At least we still have Atherton and Hussain
Willis and Holding are big losses for me, not so arsed about the others if I'm honest. Gower was very good at his anchor role, but I mean, its just an anchor role. Prefer Isha too, tbh. Can't get enough of her.

It's Atherton that would be the "cancelling subscription" loss, perhaps. Easily the best cricketing journalist, in both print and broadcast. Hussain is good too when he stops f***ing around. Definitely going to miss Holding - need a big replacement in the neutral perspective. Hope its not just more Warne, he knows his shit for sure, but a little goes a long way.

Botham was, truth be told, dire. Bumble was just a pastiche act towards end.

Willis was the best at absolutely nailing England when it was needed. Dread to think what he'd be saying about the current series.
Yeah. I think the standard is so high within the sky team now he just comes across as a bit of a clown.

I actually really like Gower and looking forward to hearing him on BT for the next few tests.
This.

Aye, Gower in Sky was not a big loss because of the standard. Gower on BT will stand out like an absolute leviathan of cricket knowledge.

I still enjoyed listening to him tbh, Sky's coverage is at risk of getting a bit bland without him and Holding. Atherton and Hussain are the only two real heavyweights left now, unless I'm forgetting someone.

Bumble not been involved as much on tests recently anyway

Big miss alongside holding though

Still think Nasser and Athers are the bench mark.

They’ll have someit planned sky. I hope it doesn’t mean more warne but it probs will considering he lives half the year too
I hope bumble leaving isn’t to do with that Yorkshire tweet. as that would be ridiculous IMO

Soon there’ll be nobody decent left
Don't think Bumble is decent anymore mind.

On Comms he tries to pretend every little thing that's just happened, even moving someone from midwicket to fine leg, is the most exciting thing in the world

In punditry, he's unbearable - he's completely polar with no shades of grey.
Before the series, he was going on about how England are poor, and will lose 3-1. We had a half decent first day, and he wrote an article for the Fail saying how good this England side is, and how were gonna win the Urn. We had an appalling second day, and he wrote a second article saying we're gunna lose 5-0 and making out that's what he predicted all along.

He's also gone down the route of Boycott in just mercilessly slagging everyone off without giving a hint of context or counter point in order to try to remain relevant.

Ten years ago, he was excellent. Knowledge, entertaining, insightful.
These days he's just a foghorn, screaming incomprehensible noise.

We were awful on Day 1?!

Writing was on the wall after the Rafeeq case but it's a real end of an era given that he and Holding have now gone, relatively shortly after we lost Willis and Botham and Gower were moved on.

The SKY comms team now is much less appealing than it was, although Atherton remains the best in the business. Hussain is still pretty good and I like Mark Butcher but otherwise I can take or leave the rest of them.

I hope to see Broad move full-time into commentary as he was excellent in the summer.

Warne can fuck off. Absolutely unbearable.

Botham was very hit and miss….more nostalgia for me him not being there. I really enjoyed Gower though, always thought he was very good.

Love Atherton and Hussain

Always enjoyed Bumble but his act had become a bit tiresome over last couple of years. Good for the hit and giggle stuff but didn't add much to the test match broadcast.

My worry with this generation of commentator/pundit all retiring is that KP will be given more airtime, that's the last thing anyone needs.

I’d be cancelling straight off.

Nice words from nasser in his mail column

Aye gower was just pure class, should have kept him. Don’t understand that decision

I do like Ian Ward mind, I know he gets some stick but he’s a good presenter

Time marches on, everyones so young and shiny these days. Would love Bumble and Gower on TMS, never happen but it’d be brilliant just to hear them prattle on in an old school way.
In most cases.

Sky replaced Gower with f***ing Ian Ward.

Yeah he does that bit well. But find him shite on comms.
