Boycott Qatar

I will watch the big games and England and so will most people once it starts.

There is no morality in football just money and success.

possibly some massive incentives/bonus' being offered to tempt the different associations...trouble is, we all know greed will win the day over morals.

apart from the human rights issues this is one of the few places in the world that should never be considered for a world wide competition, having to change the schedules for a lot of leagues is ridiculous, again, greed got this venue chosen.

any footballer (or indeed, any person) who has been taking the knee or voicing support for any anti-racism/equality type cause that goes is just proving how many hypocrites there are within sport and basically knocks any good work they have done on the head.
Lewis Hamilton this past weekend. Brought up the fact that the tragic human rights issues in Qatar should not be overlooked. Jumped in his car, won the race and showed just how hypocritical sports stars can be. Lip service from the lot of them.

Or he could have said fuck all.

You could say the same about Sochi as well.
I doubt I’ll be boycotting it (I’m fickle and think we’ll win) but I think football associations around the world should have taken a much stronger stance on this when it was even mooted so that it didn’t happen.
Thanks for your reply, I have a feeling it’s going to prove an awkward question for some!

<Edit - I’ve deleted an anti China rant. This isn’t the place for it, but I will say it is an utterly disgusting regime>

Aside from the human rights element, the fact it’s causing major disruption to the football calendar is a disgrace. Would have been a fantastic stance for the FA to say f*** you and boycott but like owt else it’s driven by greed and commercial opportunities. I’ll give it a miss and stick to watching the lads and local football.

Will playing in Qatar make all these players taking the bloody knee every week make them hypocrites, as I can't see them making a stand saying they'll not travel to the world Cup in protest at all the human rights.

Won’t be going and won’t be watching I’m disgusted they even got awarded it and as for the shit that’s gone on building the stadiums

I love intl football and have followed England away at a major tournament in the past.

I genuinely think we should boycott it as a nation, let’s not send a team. The corruption in the awarding of it and the subsequent human rights atrocities will always leave a sour taste. It would be a powerful message.

There’s not a cat in hells chance this will happen though.

And there’s also the fact that it’s unfair on players who’s miss out on representing their country in a once every 4 years event for something that’s not there fault.

I’ll only be watching the England games

There is another thread running on this too.

This might be a sign of many more to come and drastically reduced viewing figures from Europe.

I will not be watching.
