Boro thread

Middlesbrough were awful today by all accounts. A colleague who was at the match said that they were horrendous in the first half and their passing was off the pace.

Apparently Stoke set up similarly to how they did against Boro last time, squeezed them and hit them with two or three passes and were in on goal.

My colleague said there were many misplaced passes when not under pressure, so many times when they gave the ball away and that they missed the suspended Hackney.

They were absolutely awful against us 1st half aswell.

Performances have massively improved. Its professional at the moment, not flash but effective. Biggest difference is at the back - we where conceding for fun in the first 7 games and we are now managing clean sheets. We are proving very clinical in attack, especially on the counter.

Carrick put too many of the new lads in and expected them to just gel, it didn't happen and we now have a mixture of the older/experienced lads and some of the better new players and they are really starting to gel.

Last night was an exciting and open game but apart from a slow start we managed the game well and overall where comfortable, Norwich where okay until the final third.

6 wins in a row in the league, 7 in call comps. Got Stoke at home, Plymouth away and Leicester away to come in the next three games. Tough games in their own right and this run will come to an end but to be where we are after the start is incredible.
Sounds great! 🤣
