Boro thread

Funny thing is, I almost used the Merseyside situation in that big thread arguing about what is Wearside the other day. But I couldn't be bothered to argue with loads of people, because I agreed with the Skunk as it happens ๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคฎ

A river 'side' is the tidal stretch, or the estuary.

Wearside: Sunderland and arguably Washington.

Wear Valley: Chester le Street, Durham and maybe up to Bishop.

Weardale: Anywhere upstream of Bishop Auckland.

So yes, I was going to ask on poster, so is Stockport on 'Merseyside'? But like I say, I couldn't be bothered with the complications it would have caused for days ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
You've complicated it now. Tameside is beside the river Tame and the Tame doesn't even flow into the sea.

No, YOU have complicated things ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Is Stockport on Merseyside? Go on, then ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
Is Wylam Tyneside? The answer depends on one's individual viewpoint. Can there be a Tameside if it is merely a tributary? I'm Durham originally and I regard myself as Wearside. What is the tidal reach for the River Wear? I'll have a look. Just looked. Lambton Estate which is just outside Chester-le-Street.

"I fear for us, I really do, it's tough watching Sunderland back in the championship with their massive crowds and challenging us for talented players."

My Middlesbrough supporting colleague who was at the game today cited silly mistakes as the reason for their defeat and poor start to the season. He said they have lost lots of good players and replaced them with unproven ones.

Just so I know who are the 4 best players who are on loan.

Not our top scorer or even our second top scorer or our best midfielders or 3/4 of our starting defence because they're all our players.

Giles undoubtedly but while Archer and Ramsey are great but we managed fine under Carrick before they came in and according to everyone on here Steffen is awful so I'm a bit puzzled.
How you managing now without your better players ๐Ÿคท

Agreed. They have had a tough start but even those who watch them regularly acknowledge that have been pretty poor thus far and have been ripped to bits at times. My colleagues who watch Middlesbrough feel like they are ambling towards the point where Steve Gibson gets cold feet and they end up with someone like Allardyce or Bruce. Fortunately they have QPR at home next which should be winnable.

They have played ok in most games to be fair but confidence can soon drain ( look at the lack of the usual suspects on here tonight-their cockiness has gone )and no matter how unlucky you think you are -points make prizes .
