Boro thread

The whole play-off thing is still very much anybody's imo.
You did well yesterday (at home too), we did ok today but either tie could go either way in the 2nd leg.
I for one am under no illusions that the job is 'done' - far from it

Don't buy this 'we're under pressure to go up' thing though.
None of us has 'thrown away' automatic, and we had a very slow start to the season - bonus for all four to still be in with a chance of promotion imo.

Is it right that Coventry have never won away to Middlesbrough?

We’re sounding like the Mags! Attendences have got them nowhere. Funny how these “small” clubs have won a trophy since we last did. Wigan, Wimbledon, Oxford, Boro, Pompey etc.
We used to regularly get 14,000 so let’s pipe down eh?
Middlesbrough and Portsmouth aren’t small clubs

Pressure is Defo more on Luton and you than us ( and Cov ) I would say-no one wants to secure play off places weeks ago and then fail( listen to former players who comment on this -like losing a cup final ) One recognized defender -no striker -no captain for months -9 under 22
We somehow scraped in ( unexpectedly!) everyone at game I spoke to saying” great to get extra game “Atmosphere “not nervous at all but was party mode-loudest I have heard 46000 plus -that is because there’s a lack of expectation.
If we scrape to wembley that will be the same -it’s like we are down ( with luck ) but the kids never know when they are beaten .
It’s now a bit of a lottery but a very enjoyable one

Agree. After the first leg it is still very much 4 teams in with an equal chance of making the final then the final itself will be a 50/50 between two very good sides whoever those two are. I hope it is Sunderland vs Boro of course.

Well I certainly hope that isn't the case - nowt so certain that'll change on Wednesday if it is true!!!
Must admit, I don't recall us losing at home to them - and I'm getting on a bit!!!!
I'd have you as favourites like. Think you'll turn coventry over. And just think we're just too stretched with injuries to go all the way.

Wouldn't disagree that you've done really well to (deservedly) get into the play-offs - you play some really good football and I understand what you mean about it being enjoyable rather than pressurised.
I just don't agree about us (or any of the others) being under pressure.
It's more a bonus that the season isn't over (yet) for us imo.

Sky bod said it last game of the season, no idea if its correct, if I misheard or it was some other reference to since sky invented football.

Behave man.
You have as much a chance as anyone.
It's only two more games max.
Look at some of your results !
Look at our back 3. Roberts potential injury really would be a killer. But keep that front line of diallo, roberts, clarke, and gelhardt in tact and of course we have a good chance.

But you're favourites with the bookies for a reason.

Sunderland hate the fact that people perceive them in the same vein as Middlesbrough Pompey Coventry wolves etc it’s constant abuse regarding MFC and Teesside
I’m a realist marra. ST at RP since 1977. Boro have done well. Wish we had a Steve Gibson up here.
