Boro thread

And the accurate source for the clubs accounts that I have mentioned is last years. All show Boro don't pay PL wages.

30m show we are no where near what PL clubs pay. Which is what you claimed.

Back to the lower leagues? We have spent 2 seasons in our entire history outside the top 2 divisions. We aren't a lower league club.

Thank you.

So you admitted we don't pay PL wages, but now we don't pay Championship wages either 🤣

Rattled 😅

To be fair to Boro their form is really showing how transformative the right appointment can be. I don't think anyone would deny that Carrick looks potentially an excellent manager. You never know whether it will work or not but Carrick looks top draw. That, on its own, is no guarantee when it comes to the play offs. It is a lottery and its a fair comment to say that the best team doesn't often win them. Anyway, I've nowt against them, although some of their fans only seem to appear on here when they're winning and then disappear if they lose. Other than that they seem ok.

I'll explain this really clearly to you, for the last time. You said we pay PL wages and specifically used the fact that our wage bill was £28m for last season as proof of this. I disagreed and countered this by saying the likes of Norwich, Burnley, Watford etc had a much bigger wage bill than that in the PL. More than double in fact. You even then said -

You have now reverted to -

You are lost mate and are now banging on about Boro having a higher wages than certain championship sides to try prove your 'PL wage' point. Best to bow out 👍

😂😂😂😂

Does you championship revenue cover your wage bill?

No it doesn't so you are spending more than you earn. You have losses of about 60m the past 3 years but according to you Boro have restricted their spending 😂

Boro are a club who live beyond their means every season. If you were paying "championship" wages then why is your championship revenue not covering your wage bill?

Wonder why it went wrong with Wilder, went so well with Sheffield United

It doesn't seem to be going well for Wilder at Watford either. Maybe he has only one style of play and when he goes to a new club he can't work out that the players he inherits don't fit his style. Mowbray seems to recognise that you set the team up to fit the players at your disposal.

Didn’t even realise he was there

I'll trust millionaire business man Steve Gibson thanks, love his ambition. Just not paying PL wages though are we? And undoubtedly we have lowered our spending since relegation and Pulis/Monk.

Nicely trying to change the subject btw 👍

Yup, this. His Wilder ball wing back and overlapping CB thing worked at first but then got found out. He didn't have answer.

Then you have big money signings like the Australian lad and Akprom and Forrs.

I have no idea about the wages we pay but McGree, Akpom and Forss cost less than £10m between them - hardly big money even for the championship especially seeing as we signed Chuba well over 2 years ago and McGree last season.

Let's not forget we sold Tavernier and Spence in the summer for far larger transfer fees each than those 3 put together.

The smoggies seem a bit worried that SAFC might sneak into the playoffs
For my part its not a worry that your a better team, we all have our own opinions on that. But imagine you being
beaten by the Mags in the Final, I would get the same feeling if we were beaten by your good selves. I would rather not
face it thanks, and has been said on here a few times its a lottery. Any other team bummer but you get over it, not so much
with you.
