He would be lucky to be on their bench
Certainly if they bring in Remy, the striker positions will be contested by Remy, Sturridge and Lambert. Also wasn't their speculation they were wanting origini, the Belgian lad?
I cant see him getting an attacking midfield spot either.
I still believe he's angling for a pay-off/loyalty payment ( based on not asking for a move ), which given how much Liverpool paid for him could be easily in excess of 500k ...not inconsiderable, regardless of how much we think premier league players are overindulged

He's a Liverpool player and it's his career. He's never been anything but open about his desire to break into the Liverpool team. I don't think he will have much chance, but that's his decision.

From the moment it was announced, I felt people were getting carried away assuming he would sign. Given how open he'd been about wanting to play for Liverpool this season, it was never a foregone conclusion.

We have to be realistic here, he wants to play for Liverpool. That's his first choice. It will only be the realisation that he won't have much chance that will send him here.

would wish him the best of luck, positive cheer and thats about it. Really like the lad and not being bias but his best move would be too us, he wont get in liverpool team this season and they buying players in his position. He is loved by the club, fans and clearly said previously he loves safc its a win/win situation for him and he should jump at the opportunity to play for us again :)

Saying on sky sports news that he wants to stay and fight for a place at Liverpool
We knew that from the off. He's been saying that ever since he broke into our side.

Maybe, just maybe Liverpool, despite being happy to sell him, need him to go to the USA with them so didn't give us the written permission we need to talk to him before they left. And let's imagine for a minute that Fabio actually does want to come and Liverpool's actions explain why he appeared a bit unhappy over the weekend and also his tweet, which could be interpreted as sarcastic. The press might just be putting two and two together and coming up with seven, much the same as many on here.

Clutching at straws? Yes. Searching for positives? Definitely. But let's see what the next few days bring before we totally write this one off.
If he's not in their plans, why?

i read somewhere that this is where Borini wanted to be here, if thats the case why has he not stayed back and sorted the personal side of the transfer out.If there was one transfer i wanted to go through it was this one but now having my doubt,s about it,i think we need a plan B

They were saying it last night also. Sad day for SAFC. Oh well, we need to now move on from this sad affair and try to think of someone else. We should not be looking there but Championship and League One are perhaps our best chance of finding someone who is enthusiastic about wanting to sign for us.
f***ing hell. You might as well chuck yourself in the river and be done with it.

Why wouldn't he get a loyalty payment? They have already accepted a bid for him.

Genuinely wouldnt be that arsed if he didnt sign.

Of course i'd like him to but its certainly not the end of the world if he doesnt.

A sad day? It's Borini not Lionel Messi.

Get a f***ing grip.

Like, I suspect, most people I would like Borini to sign. And like most people I haven't a clue if he will. However it's 100% certain that Borini or indeed any other player under contract to a club will not prejudice their potential pay off from their current employers by saying that they want to leave and play for another club. ' I want to stay and fight for my place' normally means make it worth my while.

This. He agreed to come for a year, he came for a year. He gave his best and scored some memorable goals (2 v Mags, COC Final, Chelsea pen, Man Utd pen, WBA volley). He's a good guy whether he comes or not.

And his missus is hot

Aye. How fickle does one have to be to forget everything he did for us in a year while fulfilling his contractual obligation and hate him for not agreeing to do something he never even said he would do?

Is the correct answer. wishful thinking only on our part. Ive been saying that in various forms for weeks while all the head in the clouds brigade were off getting Borini T-shirts. Never going to happen in a million years.

I still think he'll come, he's not going to get a break there especially with the new signings they're bringing in. Personally i think it wont be till January, but i see it happening. Hopefully all of this hankie flapping now will manage to bring the price down too. No one can really say he's worth 14 mill. (I love him as a player/personality, but he surely cant be worthy of a fee that matches our highest ever paid???)
