Borini

Rodgers just took Liverpool as close to a title win as they've been for 20 years. If he wanted to keep Borini he would say to his board "I want to keep Borini", and they would have turned down the bid. That doesn't mean Borini's going to sign for us, but I certainly don't think accepting our offer for him is the first step in a master plan to make sure he doesn't leave Liverpool.
even tho I've said what I've said I still believe poyet would have spoken to borini before his loan ended and seen if would be worthwhile bothering bidding, borini must have given him some encouragement for us to put the bid in anyway, but the fact still remains that we've put the bid in and it's been accepted but borini has still gone off on their pre season tour, totally no need of it, he's obviously not keen or is waiting on other offers?

He doesn't want to come here. It's his decision.

I'm not quite sure what to think now. On the one hand I still struggle to believe that Sunderland wouldn't have a good idea as to his willingness to come before making the big bid! On the other hand even I think the fact he is going to America is strange

As stated before, even Reina is there and he is definitely leaving.

I imagine its a case of awkward timing. If we keep him here for a week discussing terms and we or he decide to pull the plug on the deal that is a week of the tour he has missed. As Rodgers said yesterday, until he signs a contract he is a Liverpool player.

Hopefully his agent is still scheduled for preliminary talks and once it looks like a deal can be agreed he will fly back to sign it. It's not as if he needs to have a look around and he already knows the manager etc.

Will be, I've been on one similar albeit it was all business class.

Pathetic ;-)

Why I am I still surprised at some of the meltdowns on here? I am still confident Borini will be a Sunderland player. He is still a Liverpool player and I can see why Liverpool would want to carry on until the deal is finalised by the players agent.

Borini being on the flight doesn't mean much. Carroll, Downing, Adam, Pacheco, Aquilani etc all did similar things but still left.

They'd already had bids accepted before they went? Prove it.

How's he supposed to discuss terms etc. in America. It just shows to me that he doesn't want to come.
