Booing the team off

Hull and Blackburn are decent teams though on their day.

You'd have been the same if it was Hull yesterday. Plymouth are decent on their day, they got a point here yesterday and deserved it.

Hull are 19th and would have been in the bottom 3 had they not beaten Sheffield Utd and only 4 points ahead of Plymouth. Suggests there was not much between them going into this weekend's matches.

What excuse will be wheeled out when we don't beat Middlesbrough next week? Another one of them days?

You know you're running out of an argument when you use an event that hasn't happened.

I'm not making any excuses, just telling it how it is. It was disappointing, a missed opportunity, we didn't deserve to win the match, we'll have to be better. If we don't go up it'll be because we don't have what it takes, neither you nor I know which way it will go. One match doesn't tell us which way it will go.

Plymouth are decent on their day :lol: absolutely pointless debating when you'll just invent nonsense.

They played how we allowed them to play, with our lacklustre, low tempo approach and our ludicrous decision to retreat back in to our box for the last 20 minutes.

It was all about how utterly appalling we were. We should have been all over them at 100mph from the first whistle, and that game should have been dead by half time.

There was no space on the pitch first half. They sat back and put every player in their own half and behind the ball. Going at them just crowds the pitch and is what they wanted and planned for.

I'd have liked to have seen us sit off a bit, invite them onto us and use our pace with balls over the top and into the channels more.

Plymouth were decent yesterday. Restricted us to relatively few chances and created a fair bit themselves.

We're not debating, mate. You're being neurotic and using events that haven't happened in an attempt to look like you're not being neurotic. I'm trying to bring some perspective for you.

In my very early years, Liverpool were seen as almost unbeatable. I'm pretty sure that Brighton knocked them out of the cup two years running, at least one of those matches being at Anfield, and Brighton went down one of those seasons. Pretty sure that the season Brighton beat Liverpool at Anfield and went down, Liverpool won the league and the League Cup. Looks like we're in good company when it comes to off days.

Terrible performance but shouldn’t doo a team doing far better than at least I expected this season. Today hurt but I still think we can win the league.
I don't think we will. Too many points lost in the last minutes of games, as has been pointed out in other threads.

Or we were just absolutely terrible and shit our pants under a bit pressure?

Let's see how their results go against other top end sides eh?

They played decent yesterday, I'm not shifting goalposts and talking about hypothetical future games.

Yeah as bad as we were they came with a simplified game plan and it worked. They really ought to have won the game on balance of chances. Never underestimate a team that’s taken a battering and has a point to prove, especially after that twat Whittaker

Both can be true you know

They created four good chances in the second half alone. Fair play to them.

I agree they played well. But the poster is was talking to wouldn't admit we were shite and wouldn't say we had thrown it away with the mentality. I'm not debating it can be both

If the intensity was there, i think there would be a different reaction. But the players were so flat, the midfield was incredibly lethargic and the defence looked hungover. Just seemed like we were not at all prepared for a football match.
