Booing and abuse

I just mean the fact they came from nowhere and got playoffs after looking like a bottom half side. If our season had been like theirs this place would be bouncing. People are too concerned with recent form rather than the fact we’ve as good a chance as anyone in the playoffs.

I don’t feel we have as good a chance as any. One individual wonder goal in the last 8 games evaporates confidence from the fans and players. Players start thinking… f**k this I’m off ASAP anyway.

I think it’s ridiculous hurling abuse at a team that finished 4th to be honest. Completely understand disappointment in missing out (we werent a better side than Leeds or Burnley) and recent performances but the idea of battering the players ahead of the playoffs is insane to me. Surely we should be pulling together and trying to sell out the play off semi and getting a decent atmosphere going

It’s got Crystal Palace in play offs written all over it this.
No sell out for play offs, lack of belief in squad, players sapped of confidence.
They need us, we need to believe and we need to give them belief … remember this is youngest squad in the division

Ok you don’t feel that way. But we do. It’s football, it’s unpredictable. I’m not happy with recent performances but I’m going in positive and hopeful, otherwise what’s the point? You’re guessing about the players attitudes. We’ve no idea what they’re thinking but I’d argue one thing is certain. If I’m Chris rigg or jobe Bellingham and I’m getting called a wanker by my own fans after finishing 4th it’s not going to motivate me to play for them.

Again, sorry but I'll say it, after reading this thread through again, many are forgetting......we've been performing poorly for months!
This isn't an isolated incident. It's been absolute dross for a while

THATS what's got people concerned/backs up.

As I've said before, if they turn up in semis and suddenly turn it on and show up, I'll applause RLB and they players. They are geniuses!!!
The concern a lot of people have is that they won't. And as humans all we can go on is previous experience.....and the last few months have been f***ing dross

Again, its kind of looked like we cant get top 2 since the Leeds game. There was a gradual decline from then really culminating in several dead rubbers. Pointless abusing players etc. Lets get behind the lads for this final push and then see what happens.

But the lack of enthusiasm at us scoring at the moment is because there’s nowt to play for. We’ve been more or less guaranteed 4th for weeks. Nowt truly matters til the playoffs. I get it’s been crap to watch and I get it’s preferable to go into them with momentum, but these last few weeks doesn’t mean we can’t do it. The players won’t be thinking we’ve blown it so why are the fans. Get behind them for the next three (hopefully 4) and vent your spleen if it goes tits up. It just feels crazy to be calling our players wankers and yelling abuse ahead of what are going to be done huge games.
How can you say there is nowt to play for? That is the defeatist attitude that has got inside the management and players despite seeing one poor performance after another. They think they will turn up when it matters.
Football is very much based on confidence and one goal in eight even if there is nothing at stake. Peter Reid wanted to win every game and he drove that into the players. It is not something you can switch on/off at will. The team spirit is gone and behind the scenes they will be blaming each other. I actually expect a heavy defeat in the first set of games, hope I’m wrong though.

It's always our fault. According to some, we should just spend our hard earned money, shut up and be happy, because we have no ambition for our club to get in the Premier League.

The context is unique. It demands fans to be pragmatic, but then this is also meant to be entertainment.
The players instinct has been corrupted, when do you go at it 100% when don’t you. Which tackles do you pull out of. This has resulted in the perception of lack of effort and passion.
Let’s hope this ‘break’ is the advantage it’s meant to be, time will tell, but the players need the fans

Well I agree on that, I’ve never been one for slagging individual players especially ones that have done so well at times.

Fair point. But if its been dead rubber, and guaranteed play offs Since then, why have we been so poor. Boring. Devoid of anything decent?

If the head coach has been thinking about play offs since then, then as I say, I'll applaud his genius if it comes off

Have you seen the post match video?

I couldn’t care less about a post match video

Who watches that like?
Unreal season finishing fourth in the Championship? Are you for real?

You haven’t supported us for very long have you?

Do you know about the history of our fine club?

This is the perfect example of the utter and total arrogance some of our fans have

What’s that got to do with the youngest team in the league with a bottom half wage budget

Honestly, you sound like a 1992 mag here

Just accept shit then mate.

Hope you aren’t as unambitious in your life.

I reckon its more of a psychological thing. Desperately chasing the top three, then start to slip behind the pack and then dealing with the disappointment. Then just as you're over it, the coach starts saying that we need to drop our levels to save ourselves. Its possible.

I would not and never have booed an safc player -in fact I cringe when others do ( nearest I got was Terry Curran )!
However -you can see why there’s “frustration” -some will vent that in boos ( Boro got that today as well and they could still get in -it’s frustration)
Does it help -not in my humble but whilst I agree it’s been a great season -and better than expected-we should use the great season as motivation and kick on even further -not bow out with a whimper ….and say “ oh well that’s ok as we exceeded what we thought we would do “
No you grab the opportunity that’s been earned -show fight -kick on and give it a right go -over to Reggie !

It’s a shame we’ve hit a bump but it’s to be expected we were the only team in the league whose season was sorted Months ago

You are a fair poster and bloke so this is not aimed at you

But any fan booing these young players who have performed way above expectations is a total and utter disgrace and you won’t change my mind on that. It’s fuckin shameful the way some people are going on tbh and makes me lose faith in the club as a whole.

We've been poor for a couple months now and a run like this has been coming. What I would say though, IF we did manage to get promoted, how will our fans react when the inevitable heavy defeats come next season and pretty regularly? It'll be brutal at times and I don't think our fans will handle it well at all.
