Don't get the hate for Gooch like, apart from a few performances recently when the whole team were shite, he's been decent. Was very good against Wycombe I thought. Haway Lynden lad.

Its not hate, its members pointing out that we have better in the squad that can step in if he has one of his off days.

Only reason any team plays 3 centre halfs is if the defenders arent good enough to play as a 2. Batth might make all the difference to him and allow us to attack more

Well half the world play it of course, including many of the highest ranked richest teams with the pulling power for all the most impressive players.

He’s dropped one of the main reasons that a 4 at the back didn’t work

Early in the season, Flanagan covered for Doyle an awful lot. He's had a poor few weeks but I wouldn't blame him for the reason a back 4 hasn't worked. There have been a number of reasons, including a lack of genuine full-backs, we've had stopgaps there an awful lot. Doyle isn't the most natural defender in the world and sometimes has a tendency to dive in unnecessarily. Also, with Winchester at RB, Evans is the only DM we have and he's had a lot of injuries. And then Flanagan went into a period of poor form.
