If his first innings 70 odd had been converted as his second innings one was, the bet would have lost.

fair dos to @essex boy he paid out with the proviso of cook making a comeback and getting another ton, it would cost me £200

Draw means the game is decided by highest first innings score. Plenty of time left to get a result in this match though - weather permitting.

Think the team with a first innings lead wins if it ends in a draw. I didn't know why there was such a big fuss over Essex having a lead until I read about it
