Blockyard Brew Co brewery Roker

Popped in Mortal Hound last night for one. Strange place for a micropub. Dance music blasting out, Sky Sports on, lots of Beavertown on. Had the Vaux Freddys Drop on draft though which was nice.

It's a halfway house between a mainstream pub and a proper craft beer micropub. Don't go in expecting something like the Hop Knocker, Town Mouse,Mean Eyed Cat etc which are all about the beer and you'll be fine.

I'll go back and whilst personally I'd prefer a better beer selection I do wonder if there's the market in Sunderland, and particularly that location, for more premium craft beers, hence the more mainstream selection.

Overall it's another option for a beer in Sunderland which is a good thing.
