Blockyard Brew Co brewery Roker

Had a lovely pint in there a couple of weeks ago, but the smell of the place prevented me from having another. Without being harsh it would put me off going back unless it was sorted.

Been in once when a band were on, I didn't like it and haven't been back. It's too small for a band crammed in there and people watching then trying to tell the barman what you want over the music. Then had to sit in the back room/corridor.

It’s ok, but not quite to my normal tastes. Still drink it if it’s on anywhere like.

Santas Soot that they normally do at Christmas is more for me. Can’t help but think they’ve got a gap here for a straight forward stout they can have with their core range like.
I always liked Black Maxim but they haven't brewed it for years.

Santas Soot is a quality drink.

Mortal Hound have Raspberry Porter in bottles.

If I’m anywhere & there’s a stout or Porter I haven’t tried it’s my first stop. Some are good, some are bad.

That's a cracking Porter.

Wishbone Black Porter Keithley Yorkshire.

Stout wise Porterhouse Irish Stout is quality too.

@Kingdom Bhoy - apart from our fav, Maxim Brewery, what other local Breweries are worth a visit/taste.

I have a welsh mate coming up for the SAFC v Cardiff game. Maxim wont have Simcoe Kid on when he does, just wondering what other local brews are worth a shot? Ideally from the likes of Asda/Morrisons etc, or if I need to Brewery themselves. Looking at visiting end of August.

Vaux, North Pier and Blockyard if you're sticking to Sunderland. Durham Brewery as well. Two by Two, Full Circle, Wylam, Almasty, Alpha Delta to name just a few if you'll spread as far as Newcastle.

Not get much decent stuff in a supermarket, try Hops at Home for local delivery, he sells a lot of local stuff.

Vaux. Their taroom will be open for the game, and on the Saturday. You can order cans online for delivery or collection.
