Blinded by the Kits ?

Season starts in less than 2 weeks, 1, new manager comes into a new job in a foreign country with no experience of the championship and he still has no assistant manager or coaches and making do with Dodds and Proctor. 2, Still no striker who you would say will score us the goals to even compete in the top half of the table never mind for playoffs or promotion. 3, no CDM to replace Evans, to me this is a massively important position in our team for the way we set up and play not asking Neil or Browne to play their cos they can, sign a f***ing player who thrives there man, 4, the list could go on but I’ve got no confidence in Speakman or KLD at the minute to change it anytime soon!
Call me a flapper twitchy arse etc but the Striker, Midfielder situation have gone on too long and us as fans can see it so why can’t they? Too stubborn to admit it? Money? Incompetent? I know the window is open still and it might change but I’ve got no faith in them whatsoever, complete soundbytes and jargon come out of Speakman when it seems a bit of positivity is happening but goes into hibernation when the going gets tough! Rant over 😂
We don’t need a striker or a cdm supposedly.

Our system doesn’t require one. Only team in the world that plays without 2 of the 3 specialist positions.

The shite some of our fans will fall for is laughable like.

Lessons have been learnt from last season. Absolute shit show. If anything it’s worse than last seaosn

And what wages is he on for the duration of his 3 year deal?
whose paying them?
would iamgine bournemouth had to give him a pay off to fuck off and so he took a drop at his new club..albeit his new club have parachute money so SAFC cant compete with that

browne is a CDM at this level..played scores of games there...he can also play in the more advancaed midfield role but he is capable CDM.

Nee idea, but I bet it's a lot for a very soon to be 32 year old with with little to no resale value and incapable of stepping up to the Prem, even if he can get you the goals to get you there.

Kiefer Moore on loan would be one thing, but saddling yourself with Kiefer Moore on a 3 year contract is quite the other.

Nothing short of a disgrace the last 18 months. Any other chief scout or head of football operations would have been peddled along time ago. Signed so much shite it’s untrue. Take Away Chris Rigg not a single player tonight should be anywhere near our starting 11. Absolute rammel, Not just based on tonight’s game neither ive seen enough last season and for the u21 to realise most of these will badly struggle to play league one never mimd championship football
Mostly correct but let’s see if we’ve learnt from it

It’s all down to sustainability. In other words we ain’t got a pot to pee in.

3 years does seem excessive...what if they get promoted..will they just have to laon him out again?

you are right the club is skint..what gave you the impression it isnt? It loses money every day. However sustainability isnt a choice..its a rule of the league..whcih is why teams have had points deductions and the only really big spenders down here are the parachute money teams cos they aint skint

It’s a gimmick of the likes of Charlie and Stuart Donald would pull.

Get the simpletons onside and they will be watching the right hand and won’t have a clue what the lefts doing
Very similar trick to changing the pink seats.
Do you reckon it’s even slightly possible that releasing a really nice kit which sells well, replacing aged seats to have a bit of pride in our stadium, and having a team who are competitive on the pitch, MIGHT all be in the same hand?

It is, however I'd bet Kiefer Moore will still be a decent Championship striker in 3 years time. He's ideal for what we need right now, so if it is a 3 year deal or nothing I'd take the risk.

Which makes our signings all the more important, rather than the scattergun approach of the past 18 months.

The majority of our better “assets” are L1 days, Aug 22 or home grown from the academy.

The planning since Sep 22 has been very poor. Ekwah, Bellingham and if being generous Ba who we might make money on, never mind influence the first team. Over 20 signings in that time

We’ve still time this summer, let’s see if they really have learned anything.

It's not about how good he'll be in 3 years though, it's what he's gonna cost ya and what it does to the wage structure.

We're not gonna start dishing out those kinds of contracts to 30-odd year old men winding down their careers. We probably can't afford to even if we wanted to.

He's gone to a club with a pocketful of parachute money now anyway, so it's pointless discussing him any further.

Have we been?

We ain’t playing great stuff.

I personally don’t think we have strengthened the key positions needed.

Blame the commentators for this wobble mind, reminding me ten 10 days away from season start.

Still , Cracking Kits tho.

Makes the stewart money spunked away look even worse then. That was our chance to add real quality and push on

I NEVER gave the impression that we weren’t skint. I stated explicitly that we had no money

Tell me from what I said gave you (only you) the idea that I was under the illusion I thought we had money?

The nostalgia for Gelhardt and Simms is strange. Both were slated on here during their time for us.
Neither were the lone striker, which is what we were looking for to replace Stewart. We still are!
