Bit of bother before the Portsmouth match

"Going" up party (or not, as it transpired 😀). Pompey were game for a scrap that day - big squad of Navy lads up.

Portsmouth home, 1/05/1993

Any memories from this one, Portsmouth were heading for promotion, had won their last 5 games and we were heading for relegation. Somehow we absolutely battered them winning 4-1, they missed out on promotion and we stayed up...just. Would love to see some footage of the game. It was one of those...

Afrer the game a couple of Portsmouth fans were trying to goad me into saying something to them and give them an excuse to have the scrap they were looking for.
Shouting about Sunderland being a shithole, that we'll never get promoted and how despite them being 400 miles away we really hate them and that shows how massive they are. I just laughed at them as I knew what they wanted but they kept on getting louder.

We were in one of the back alleys behind the Colliery Tavern on our way to the car and we were the only people in that alley. I was with my missus (no) and 2 kids who are only 4 & 6.
 
About 30 were walking down Roker Ave towards the seafront about 1.30. No bother but I wondered where they were heading. Harbour View or Wolsey perhaps?
