Solihull is probably the most affluent borough in the Midlands if you take away Chelmsley Wood from the equation. Lovely leafy middle class town. The cost of an average house in Solihull would buy a neighbourhood in the north east.

Anyway who is going to condem the racism of the poster who said there are no English people in Brum? :lol:

As a member of the royal institute of chartered surveyors I can confirm that the average property price in the North East is higher than that in the Birmingham area. I can also advise that violent crime and petty theft is lower in the north east. One final point is the level of un-employment is lower in the North East aswell.
Never mind son. Maybe you need to go for a walk on a beech (fail) or maybe near-by countryside (oops) to clear your head.

The original borough was always the most affluent part of the midlands but we had to take in one of the biggest council estates in Europe from Birmingham in boundary changes in the 80's?
