Bid rejected for Clarke

I really hope Nixon isn't right about us willing to accept £15m. Who would we get witht hat money to replace 20-odd goals form out-wide?
Moreover, who of that standard would come?

If we sell Clarke and are without Amad and probably Stewart from last season, that's 50-odd direct goal contributions and I reckon we'd struggle for top-half unless the recruitment is absolutely unbelievable.

About 5 Jack Clarkes?

Clarke went to Spurs for £10M, about 5 years ago! Which world are they in if they think he still has the same valuation in this inflated transfer market.
This. He'd only played 22 games, scoring 2 goals at our level. He's just played 50, scoring 11, with his best years still way ahead of him
About 5 Jack Clarkes?
Or 5 Dajaku's?

But but but its been rejected

Only a matter of time before someone crumbles

Stewart not signing a contract
Clarke supposedly wanting PL football
Mowbray wanting experience but not getting jt

Maybe Alex Neil was right

The project though 😎

Which footballer doesn't want to play in the Premier League?? How is that an issue?

Not sure why you're getting your knickers in a twist because our players actually have value and are desirable for the first time in about 7 years

i don't care about their value in the transfer market

clubs with aspirations of promotion dont sell their better players

So again I'll ask, do you think professional footballers just want to play football, or do they want to make as much money as possible in a short space of time?
Each professional footballer is different. You cannot blanket cover them all with a binary question like that.

Do they all want to earn decent money? Probably.

Are they all solely driven by money? Probably not.

Once they are earning decent money, they then have the comfort of being able to begin to think about the longer term.

In JC's case, he chased the money with a big move to Spurs. He rapidly decided getting splinters in his arse watching them play was not for him.
He took a really brave decision and came here.
He plays every week. He likes the club. He loves Uncle Tony, and his stock is growing massively.

If he has Prem ambitions again, he is ready to try and achieve that here, but if that doesn't work out, it will take a bigger club, and a much bigger offer to persuade him to leave.

Going nowhere this window marra.

If the lad wants to go not much we can do BUT if we sell for anything cloes to the number that fool quoted in the press we are mugs.

Has to be well over £20 million. Who replaces him? he is a geniune talent, we saw that last season.

Burnley fans are saying Clarke not worth more than £10 million & they should go for Tella from Southampton for £15 million he’s a better player.

Hope you're right mate

Because it means we could lose one of our star players

That's surely an issue

Did I?
I would guess so. Only a couple of years ago our stars were Maguire and McGeady and we were signing Danny Graham. KLD has come in and transformed us and yet you are quite clearly desperate to slag off 'The Project'. No one needs to be blindly positive but you really are a very tiresome poster

Realistically 25-30m there between Ballard LND and Clarke, all 3 good but 2 didn't play too much last season. Clarke without doubt had a great season, big decision for the club but that's football can they replace him or them and maintain the push?
