Bid rejected for Clarke

I really hope Nixon isn't right about us willing to accept £15m. Who would we get witht hat money to replace 20-odd goals form out-wide?
Moreover, who of that standard would come?

If we sell Clarke and are without Amad and probably Stewart from last season, that's 50-odd direct goal contributions and I reckon we'd struggle for top-half unless the recruitment is absolutely unbelievable.
Whilst it would certainly be a hard task, it should be remembered that the prices we paid for Roberts, Clarke, Stewart plus the loan fees of Simms and Amad would probably see us have £10m to spare from that £15m price. Hopefully we don’t have to worry about how the club deals with it, though:lol:

Are you really saying as a club in the Championship, we are immune to selling our best players to a Premier League club? Mad if that's the way you are thinking tbh. I'm not happy at all at the thought but i'm realistic mate.
I completely agree mate. Would just want more than £15m. £20m+ and we'd probably have to but it's still big pressure on the recruitment team

I fully agree with that mate. All was brilliant business. I just think Clarke is that good at this level, it'a a hell of a job to find a replacement but then, that's what we are set-up to do

Don't get me wrong, i want just as much as Bristol City are asking for Alex scott..if that's the going rate. Plus, Clarke had better stats in goals and assists than Scott last season and has couple yrs left on his contract.
