Bid rejected for Clarke

Said before on here.
Clarke jumped too soon from Leeds to Spurs chasing money, and ended up loaned out and unhappy.
Came here for first team football, and pretty much start again.
Got a run of football and has been brilliant for us. He is playing in front of big crowds, at a well run club, can see the plan, and I really don't think he will make the same mistake again.
He is going nowhere. The money and fame will come for him, but he won't go chasing it.
The lad wants to build a career, not chase money.
He proved that by signing for us in the first place.

This is not true. Not by a long way. Don’t translate your own paradigm and motivations onto others. The majority of the world are not motivated by money - they need and want enough money to get by, but they are not motivated to have more and more money. If Jack Clarke was purely motivated by money then he wouldn’t have joined Sunderland permanently last summer.

Don't be silly

I agree. Big ask just to stand still having lost Amad, Uncertainty over Stewart and one or two others. Clarke remains a key player. I was more suggesting Burnley have time as they can start low and test our resolve - not yet July.

But it’s just insulting, they obviously don’t rate him very highly. If I was him I would be wary, if he’s at all interested.
Thing is he’s an intelligent lad he knows he’s played half a season at the level he’s at now, he will get every chance to sustain that or even improve and will be worth a lot more both in terms of transfer and salary in a years time.
The club knows that as well. By which time we are premiership club hopefully

Mate, if you’re purely motivated by money then good for you - I hope your bank balance keeps you company at night. But don’t look at the rest of the world through your own sad prism. Most people are motivated by family, friends, health, mental well-being, doing what makes them happy. If Jack Clarke was purely motivated by money then he’d be sat now on his contract at Spurs earning much more than he has over the past 12 months. As someone else has already said, that is fact!

A hopeful like marra...

Aye, but I think he learned a lesson with that Spurs move, did thd brave thing and came here to play.
He's getting better all the time, and that will continue here.
Probably wouldn't elsewhere mate.
As for the other stuff, playing in a full ground every week, in front of fans that love him, good facilities etc. Only the top half a dozen clubs in the Prem can offer that, and they won't be the ones coming knocking marra. 🤞
