Bid rejected for Clarke

We should tell all interested clubs that discussions will begin at £20m. Anything less will be considered insulting with future offers from that club ignored.

We cannot afford to be without the goals that Clarke,Amad, and Stewart provide. So he has 3 years left only a 20 mil plus offer would be worth even considering.

I agree. Big ask just to stand still having lost Amad, Uncertainty over Stewart and one or two others. Clarke remains a key player. I was more suggesting Burnley have time as they can start low and test our resolve - not yet July.

If they did it would be massively revealing of the ambitions of the ownership group.

I am slightly concerned by the silence from the club. I do think when on the receiving end of such derisory offers that a public rejection of such bids could nip any unwanted gossip on this in the bud. The silence possibly suggests that you could be right. And that concerns me a touch.
Here we go again with people wanting public statements or open letters. Ridiculous.

True especially as we have no real experience of selling players for big money,Pickford the last one.Hopefully the new owners are made of sterner stuff.

What situation? He has a 3 year contract. He’s happy and the bids are not even half of what we’ll entertain. Again we hold the cards. Unless you think Jack Clarke will go on strike so he can go to Burnley?

Them's some binary certainties friend.

We should never be putting out public statements on the transfer front.

Literally all it takes is giving a journalist we have close ties with (Pete O'Rourke from The Athletic being one) a little scoop saying that he isn't for sale this summer, or it will take an astronomical bid to get him.

We lost our highly rated manager to Stoke who were in the same league as us man. If a PL team offers to double his wages there is a very good chance he will be away.
I don’t doubt if a top 10 team comes in.just don’t think he’ll see Burnley or Luton as attractive as what we are now.

We can’t compare AN can we? Trebled his wages, gives he free rein or transfers and closer to home. A lot more factors.
