Better than Sheff United

it’s still on 💪 😎
Since the turn of the century, 21 teams have had 68 points or more after 34 matches in the Championship (or equivalent). Leeds last season are the only ones who were not promoted. Statistically there is now a <5% chance that Leeds, Sheffield United and Burnley will not be promoted.

I think we’ve been better than them for most of the season, they’ve carried some incredible luck.
We have been better than them for sure, but tbf not consistently enough. Our strength - exciting young players, has also been our weakness: inconsistency and lack the experience to see games out.

while I agree they always look average they have players that just get them out of trouble and can grind wins.

Us and Leeds are the best 2 teams to watch but if you can’t have a bit grit about you and defend then you’re not going up
We haven't been good to watch for the last couple of months especially at home, he's got them running on empty cause he refuses to rotate the squad

Not to mention having to play the same midfield most of the season without any options for rotation. I feel like we’ve been seriously unlucky with injuries this year, despite having a reasonably balanced and deep squad.

Not sure it’s luck tbh. We play a 3 man midfield and had 4 central midfielders fit at the start of the season. You could say it was unlucky that Browne got injured, but it was the clubs choice to sign an injured Samed meaning we only had 4 to cover 3.

When we did get Le Fee in January, we played him out of position and didn’t rest a clearly knackered Rigg. We’ve refused to play Aleksic despite him showing good signs, and shipped out Aouchice.

There were options available, the coach just decided not to use them.

Ive watched them a good few times, they beat both Luton and Portsmouth and were butchered in both....Portsmouth missed two open goals from a yard, another "offside" by what must have been a milimetre, hit the bar, several other great chances....Luton nearly as bad....Both games they were torn to shreds and fluked a win.

I agree. I'm still baffled how they're 2nd

I don’t have the stats to back this up, but just from checking the scores every week they rarely slip up against shite teams.

Hull beat them but otherwise they make sure they win the games they should be.
They've got en excellent squad. Their bench players wouldn't just get in most teams but they'd be the best players of a lot of the team in the league.
